mr. hayden wayne seabolt

 

Mr. Hayden Wayne Seabolt, age 77, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2003 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.

Mr. Seabolt was born on Monday, October 26, 1925, a son of the late James Lloyd Seabolt and Bessie Patton Seabolt.  He was retired from Tennessee Chemical Company, where he had worked as a blacksmith.  Mr. Seabolt was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and Allegheny Masonic Lodge, #114, F & AM.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Brewer Seabolt, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Delphia and Ervin Plott, of Blairsville; son, Dale Wayne Seabolt, of Blairsville; and daughter and son-in-law, Delores Annette and Tim Barnes, of Hiawassee, Georgia; granddaughter and her husband, Vicki and Darrell Bridges; grandson and his wife, Jason and Crystal Plott, and granddaughter, Jennifer Barnes; great granddaughter Gracie Bridges; many other relatives, friends and neighbors also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, may 13, 2003, at 4:00 pm, from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Horace Potts and  Rev. Brent Chatham officiating.  Special music was presented by Leon Henderson.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Ervin Plott, Jason Plott, Darrell Bridges, Chris Lovell, Stephen Lovell, and Tom Evans.  Interment was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

mr. larry lee abercrombie

 

Mr. Larry Lee Abercrombie, age 54, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, may 17, 2003 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Abercrombie was born on Sunday, August 15, 1948, a son of Garnie Abercrombie and Grace Grizzle Abercrombie.  He was a cabinetmaker and was of the Baptist faith.  Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Kenneth Abercrombie.

Survivors include his parents, Garnie and Grace Abercrombie, of Blairsville; daughter, Melissa Groves, and son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Tasha Abercrombie, all of Blairsville; two granddaughters: Morgan and Savannah Abercrombie; two grandsons: John and Deacon Groves; two step-granddaughters, and many other relatives, friends and neighbors also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, may 18, 2003, at 2:00 pm, from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Don Hood and Rev. Horace Potts officiating.  Special music was presented by The Faith Singers.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Charles Rich, Burch Crawford, Jerry Rich, Larry Rich, Ricky Dyer, and Bobby Sexton.  Interment was in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

mrs. hazel lorraine dailey marshall

 

Mrs. Hazel Lorraine Dailey Marshall, age 84, of Old Trackrock Rd. Blairsville, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at her home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Marshall was born on Sept. 17, 1918 in Clay County, NC, the daughter of the late Mitchell Dailey and the late Lizzie Stamey Dailey.  She moved Union County from the Crooked Creek Community in Young Harris.  She was preceded in death by an infant son, William Blain Marshall and by her husband Claude Edward Marshall, also her step mother, Carrie Dailey.  Mrs. Marshall was a member of Woods Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Marshall are two daughters and son in laws: Elizabeth and Alvin Garrett of Blairsville; Betty and Kenneth Gladson of Blairsville; two sisters: Betty White of Cornelia, Janie Patton of Hayesville; four brothers: Horace Dailey of Hayesville, William Dailey of Cornelia, jack Dailey of Hayesville, and Lee Dailey of Hiawassee; granddaughters and husbands: Melodie and Anthony Bohannon, Lori and Joe Curtis, Kim and Brad Hamer, Lisa and Christopher Lovell; grandson and wife, Chris and Julie McEver; eleven great grandchildren:; Jonathan and Kayce Bohannon, Daniel, Ashley and Joshua Curtis, Easton and Kael Hamer, Lindsay Lovell, Heather McEver, Stephen and Heather Greene, many other relatives, friends and neighbors also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 2:00 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tim Jones, Rev. Jimmy Tanner and Dr. Benny Erwin officiating.  Special music was presented by Ken and Betty Nichols.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Mitchell Lewallen, Michael and Doug Dailey, Nicky and Kyle Waldon, and John Kelsey.  Interment followed in the Wood Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

mrs. gayle lance

 

Mrs. Gayle Lance, age 54, of the Gainesville Hwy, Blairsville, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2002 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta following a brief illness.  Mrs. Lance was born on Sept. 8, 1948 in Fannin County, the daughter of the late Coy Lance and Ruby Jewell Nix Lance.  She was a lifelong resident of Union County.  Mrs. Lance was a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church.  Surviving Mrs. Lance are two daughters and son in laws: Kimberly and Steve Ward of Tyrone, Amy and Robert Rogers of Blairsville; mother, Ruby Jewell lance of Blairsville; one sister, Judy Johnson of Blairsville; two brothers and sister in laws, Ted and Debbie Lance of Blairsville, Harold and Anita Lance of Hayesville; three grandchildren: Laura Beth Rogers and Adalyn Rogers of Blairsville, Luke Ward of Tyrone; many other relatives, friends and neighbors also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 16, 2003 at 11:00 am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton and Rev. Eddie Herring officiating.  Special music was presented by Herb and June Grounds.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Wesley Holbrooks, Chuck Johnson, John Nix, Steve Ward, Robert Rogers and Perry Stringer.  Interment followed in the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.

mr. michael ward bryson

 

Mr. Michael Ward Bryson, age 29, of Blossom Valley Rd, Blairsville, GA passed away on Friday, May 16, 2003 at his home following a sudden illness.  Mr. Bryson was born on July 5, 1973 in Union County, the son of Ward Bryson and Mary Allen Bryson.  He was a native and lifelong resident of union County.  Mr. Bryson attended Refuge Tabernacle Church.

Surviving Mr. Bryson are his loving wife of nine years, Greta Nichols Bryson of Blairsville; one daughter, Kristen Renee Bryson; three sons: Joshua Ward Bryson, Justin Samuel Bryson and Dustin Michael Bryson, al of Blairsville; father and mother, Ward and Mary Bryson of Blairsville; two sisters: Cindy Bryson of Blairsville, Janice Cobb of Blue Ridge; grandmother, Geneva Bryson of Blairsville; father and mother in law, Sam and Goldie Nichols of Young Harris; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives, friends and neighbors also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday May 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm from the West Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Jones and Rev. Jerry Young officiating.  Special music was presented by Benny and Susan Shook and the West Union Church Choir.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Michael Knight, James Lovell, Bill Hampton, Chris Miles, Frank Lovell and Joseph Anderson.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
