Mary
Louis Parson Curtis, age 65, of
Blairsville, GA, died Thursday, May 18, 1995 in a Union County, Georgia
hospital.
She was a native of Avery County,
NC. She was a homemaker and was of the
Baptist faith. She was the daughter of
the late Clarence Edward and Josephine Franklin Parson.
She is survived by her husband, John
Isaac Curtis; one son, Joe Curtis of Blairsville, GA; three daughters,
Susie
Rogers and Paula Ledford, both of Murphy, NC and Tammy Curtis of
Blairsville,
GA; one brother, Bill Parson of Hickory, NC; one sister, Betty
Loudermilk of
Newland, NC; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11
a.m. Saturday, May 20, 1995 in the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel
in
Newland, NC. Burial was in the Jonas
Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonas Ridge, NC.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home,
Newland, NC was in charge of arrangements.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Murphy, NC was in charge of local arrangements.

Ms.
Patricia Rispoli, age 50, of
Blairsville, GA passed away Sunday, May 14, 1995, following a period of
declining health. Ms. Rispoli was the
daughter of the late Thomas and Jean Reece Rispoli.
Surviving are an aunt, Mrs. Kathryn Lane of
Highland Springs, VA, cousin Rebecca Boger of Richmond, VA, cousin
Jimmy Bryan
of Cleveland, GA, cousin Robert Reece of Marietta, GA, aunt Lorena
Reece of
Blairsville, GA, special friend Horace Underwood of Blairsville, GA. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16,
1995 at 2 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lester Sutton
officiating. Interment was in the Old
Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff
Fortenberry, Jeffery
Carroll, Jimmy Bryan and Jim Boger.

Mr.
Gordon B. Brown, age 83, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 1995 at his home following an
extended
illness.
Mr. Brown was born in Union County,
Georgia, on October 23, 1911, a son of the late John Gordon Brown and
Ida Watkins
Brown. He was a farmer and a lifelong
resident of this area. Mr. Brown was a
member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie
Owenby Brown, of the home; daughters, Maybelle Houser, of Arnoldsville,
GA;
Grapelle Rollins of Acworth, GA; Dollie Burrell of Blairsville; and
Joyce Tina
warren of Naples, FL; sons, Fred Berry Brown and Jerry Brown, both of
Blairsville; brothers, Jim Brown, of Gainesville, GA, and Johnny Mac
Brown, of
Blairsville; sister, Jessie Corn, of Blairsville; twenty grandchildren,
fifteen
great grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren also survive,
along
with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday,
May 19, 1995 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev.
Ronnie
Abernathy officiating. Specially
selected music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young.
The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Jimmy Southerland, Freddie Brown, Tommy Murphy, Randy
Brown, Rhuel
Hughes and Bill Houser. Interment was in
the church cemetery.

Mr. Roy
A. Mason, age 87, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Thursday, May 18, 1995 in Northeast Georgia
Medical Center
in Gainesville, Georgia.
Mr. Mason was born on April 22, 1908
in Union County, Georgia, a son of the late Will and Belle Davis Mason. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a
member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Earie
Mason, of the home; sons, Elmer Mason of Talking Rock, GA, Ernest Mason
and
Ervin mason, both of Douglasville, GA, Stanley mason of Lithia Springs,
Ga;
(sic) daughters, Shirley Anderson of Griffin, GA and Linda Wall of
Lawrenceville, GA; step children, James Totherow of Blairsville, Rozene
Barnes
of Jonesboro, GA, Lawrence Totherow of Smyrna, GA, Donald Totherow of
Gainesville, GA and Betty Jean Pickelsimer of Murphy, NC; ten
grandchildren and
two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday,
May 20, 1995 at 2 p.m. from Philadelphia Baptist church with Rev.
Clarence
Tritt and Rev. Horace Potts officiating.
Special music for the service was presented by Ken and Elaine
Young. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Tony Mason, Gary Mason, Stuart Mason, Scott Mason, Bill
Anderson
and Benjamin Cross. Interment was in
Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
