Mr.
Harold
H. (Nick) Nichols, age 64, of 3102 State Hwy 60, Suches, GA. died
Saturday, May
24, 1997 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Mr. Nichols was a native of Randolph County,
GA. who had lived in Suches since 1959.
He was a farmer, U.S. army Veteran, Member of Blue Mountain
Masonic
Lodge #38 in Dahlonega, Chairman of Deacons and Music Director at Mt.
Lebanon
Baptist Church in Suches, chairman of Union County Hospital Board,
member of
Union County Health Board and was on Board of Directors of Camp
E-Ma-Laku in Suches.
He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Nichols, Suches, GA.;
his mother, Mrs. Inez Nichols, Cuthbert, GA.; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and
Beth Nichols of Suches, GA.; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and George
Van
Voorhis, Suches, GA.; sister, Joanne Ward, Cuthbert, GA.;
grandchildren, Cara
Van Voorhis, Todd Van Voorhis, A.J. Nichols, Ethan Nichols, and Ryan
Nichols;
several other relatives survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, May 26,
1997 at the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church
in Suches with the remains placed in state at the church at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiated and interment
was held in the church cemetery. Deacons
of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church served as pallbearers and honorary escort.
Banister
Funeral Home of Dahlonega was charge of
arrangements.

Mrs.
Faye A. Libby, age 87, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Monday, May 26,
1997
following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Libby was born in Fulton County, IL, the daughter of W.C.
and Ethel
Deming Gullett.
Surviving
are her daughter, Mrs. Lendall Fensterle of Blairsville, GA.; six
grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great great
grandchildren and a
number of nieces and nephews. No local
services were held. Banister Funeral
Home of Young Harris in charge of arrangements.
