michael ray dyer

 

Mr. Michael Ray Dyer, age 55, of Tanyard St., Blairsville passed on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.  Mr. Dyer was born on March 19, 1952 in Union County, the son of the late John Franklin Dyer and the late Ida Rose Nix Dyer.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County.  He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Buddy Ramsey.  Mr. Dyer attended Pine Top Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Dyer are one daughter and son-in-law, Layla and Jeremy pate of Gainesville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Eugene Dyer of Blairsville, Lavada and Rachel Wilson of Blairsville, Paulette Ramsey of Cumming, GA; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Olene Dyer, Crett and Merlor Dyer, Wayne and Vietta Mae Dyer, Russell and Edith Dyer, all of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Danielle and Madison San Nichols; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, may 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Dyer and Rev. Lloyd Ledford officiating.  Special music was presented by the Dennis Taylor family.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Kenny, Scott, and Tim Dyer, Calvin and Max Hood, John Nix and Jeremy Pate.  Interment followed in the Pine Top Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family met with friends on Wednesday evening after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

jull moulton sanderlin

 

Jill Moulton Sanderlin, age 53, of Blairsville, GA, went to e with her Lord after a long illness on Monday, May 21, 2007.  Jill was born Monday, November 2, 1953 in Buffalo, NY to the late Carl Moulton and the late Sally Hodgeman Moulton.  She was preceded in death by husband, Jeffery Eugene Sanderlin; brother, Danny Quillin and mother-in-law, Zona Isabella Sanderlin.

Survivors include: daughters, Melinda Emiko Brown of Titusville, FL and Zona Ellise Sanderlin of Blairsville, GA; sons, Jeffery Carl Sanderlin of Blairsville, GA and Christopher Eugene Sanderlin of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Cory Raine Sides, Emerald Sides, Trebor Eugene Weller, Ellise Marie Weller and Jeffery Lance Sanderlin; father-in-law, E.A. Sanderlin; step-mother, Janice Moulton and step-sister, Debbie Newman.

Memorial services were held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Brasstown Bald.

elizabeth “betty” fortenberry turner

 

Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Fortenberry Turner, age 68, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, may 24, 2007 at Emory University Hospital after an extended illness.  Mrs. Turner was born Sunday, August 28, 1938 in Union County, GA to the late Garn C. Fortenberry and the late Bonnie Kirby Fortenberry.  She was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Edward M. Turner; two brothers, Bobby and Earl Fortenberry all of Blairsville.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Joel and Visnja Turner of Palmetto, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Susie and Grover Brendle of Blairsville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Claxon and Linda Fortenberry; sisters, Mary Ruth Garrett and Barbara Everett all of Blairsville, GA.  Betty was very proud of her grandchildren, Hrvoje and Ivana Turner of Palmetto, GA, Jeffrey, Travis and Mark Brendle of Blairsville, GA.  Betty had several nieces, nephews and many other relatives still surviving.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 3 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Bob L. Bone officiating.  Music was provided by The Trackrock Quartet.  Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Hrvoje Turner, Larry Garrett, James Fortenberry, David Fortenberry, Chris Fortenberry and Dean Stanley.  Honorary pallbearers included: Jeffrey Brendle, Travis Brendle and Mark Brendle.

elizabeth lule bond eubanks

 

Mrs. Elizabeth Lule Bond Eubanks, age 90, of Moon Shadow View Ln., Blairsville passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2007 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Eubanks was born on March 25, 1917 in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of the late George Bond and the late Agnes Dressback Bond.  She was Past President of Tony Valley Garden Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, James Thomas Eubanks in 1997; mother and step-father, Agnes and Homer Evans, and a grandchild, Pamela Eubanks.  Mrs. Eubanks was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving Mrs. Eubanks are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Faye Eubanks of Blairsville, Fred and Ann Eubanks of Ormond Beach, FL, Gary and Audrey Eubanks of Cumming, GA; granddaughters, Robin Casey, Terri Eubanks and Angela Eubanks; grandsons, mark and Ryan Eubanks, great-grandchildren, Colleen Casey, Declan Casey and Robyn Eubanks; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 12 p.m. from the Westview Cemetery in Atlanta with Chaplin Jerry Johnson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Georgia Mountain Hospice in Mrs. Eubanks memory.
