Mrs.
Jehre Holtzclaw,
age 73, of
Union County, passed over peacefully Monday evening, May 7, 2012, at
the Union
County Nursing Home, Blairsville, where she had been receiving
professional,
kind and compassionate care over the past 10 month. She was born May
18, 1938,
in Cleveland, OH, and lived in S. Amherst, OH, West Bloomfield, MI, and
the
Prescott, AZ, area, and over the past year was a resident of Union
County and
Blairsville, GA.
Jehre was the daughter of the late James Edward
and Dorothy
Kovarbasic Pappas. She is survived by her
husband,
Travis Holtzclaw, Union County, GA, her
loving
children: daughter, Tia Rebholz
(Littleton, CO), and
son, Gino Graziano (Altadena, CA); two
grandchildren,
Brittany and Ryder, one great-grandson, Rilan
(CO);
and sister, Patricia Gorr (S. Amherst, OH).
A
graduate of Kent State University, Kent, OH, Jehre taught in high school and was an
accountant for
the family business. In mid-life, she completed graduate studies at the
School
of Humanistic Studies (Psychology), Detroit, MI, and was certified, and
conducted classes in the Silva Mind Development program in Michigan and
Arizona. She lovingly performed her healing, professional counseling
and care
for 10 years in Prescott, AZ, successfully accepting many clients with
the most
challenging mental and behavioral disorders/diagnoses.
She
was a member of the Unity Church and Church of Religious Science in
Prescott,
and a long-time student of A Course In
Miracles in
Michigan and Arizona.
Among
her greatest passions were hiking the Grand Canyon (before and after
moving to
Arizona) and the game of golf where she excelled both in Michigan and
Arizona,
becoming the 1995 ladies champion at her home course, The Prescott
Country
Club. She never rode in a cart; she always walked.
Jehre will be dearly missed by her family and
many friends,
including nursing home staff and residents for whom she always had a
smile and
a pat while in Blairsville and The Good Samaritan Nursing Home,
Prescott
Valley, AZ. Memorial services are being planned for a later date.
While
we mourn for our mate, mother, sister and friend who will always be
alive in
our memories, we are thankful that she lived and that we were the ones
chosen
to be among those who were her family and friends.
