pauline "polly" trulove woodham
Mrs. Pauline "Polly"
Trulove Woodham, age 87, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on Wednesday,
May 23,
2012 at her home. Polly was born in Clay
County, NC on Monday, September 22, 1924 to the late William Lee &
Dove
Morgan Trulove. She moved to Marietta where she worked for the Bell
Bomber
Plant during World War II. After the war she began a career with Sears
&
Roebuck Company, managing accounts. Polly and her beloved husband,
Reuben
Leonard "Woody" Woodham, retired and moved to Blairsville in 1980.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville and loved her
Church
Family and Sunday School Classmates. She also enjoyed visiting and
ministering
to people at the nursing home. Polly was preceded in death by her
loving
husband of 60 years, Woody Woodham; son, Leonard Woodham; her parents;
and her
sister, Jean Trulove Richards.
Polly will be greatly missed by all
who knew her, but especially by her loving family: daughter, Marsha
Woodham of
Blairsville; son, John Woodham of Villa Rica, GA; daughter-in-law,
Jackie
Woodham; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 1 P.M
on Friday, May 25, 2012 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of
Blairsville
with Dr. Fred Lodge and Dr. Billy Rabern officiating. Special music was
presented by Minister of Music R. Terry Hooper and Mrs. Jackie Hill. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Larry Trulove, Chris Woodham, Taylor Woodham, Albert
Morris,
Quinton Holbrooks and Zack Wright. Serving as honorary escort to the
family was
Joe Kuntzelor and Neal Moon. The family received friends at the funeral
home on
Friday morning from 11 until the service began. Burial was in Union
Memory
Gardens. Cemetery in Blairsville.

Mrs. Rachel Ann
Nalaschi, age 42, of Summit Way, Blairsville passed away at her home on
Monday,
May 28, 2012 following an extended illness. Rachel was born December 9,
1969 in
Kingston Jamaica. She moved here 10½ years ago from Loxahatchee, FL.
Rachel
loved kayaking with her family and friends. She loved baking, cooking,
her dogs
and cats and was a great wife and mother. Rachel was preceded in death
by her
father, John Wall and a sister, Catherine Wall. She was of the Catholic
Faith.
Survivors include her
husband of 18 years, Eugene Nalaschi of Blairsville, daughters, Lisa
Marie
Nalaschi and Gina Marie Nalaschi of Blairsville, mother, Mary Wall,
brother,
Jonathan Wall of England, sisters, Maxine Ridung of Canada, Jackie
Andress and
Christine Doyle both of FL, aunt, Indira Virture of FL and uncle,
Christopher
Virture of FL, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and
friends also
survive.
Memorial services were held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Rivera officiating. In lieu of
flowers
make memorials to the House of Prayer Church.

Thelma McDaniel Nichols, age 93, of
Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her home. Mrs.
Nichols
was born Friday, October 18, 1918 in the Higdon Community of Fannin
County, GA,
to the late Willie and the late Estie Pope McDaniel. She was a member
of New
Union Baptist Church in Blairsville, avid flower and vegetable
gardener; she enjoyed
sewing and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by husband
Glenn
Nichols in 1981, brothers: Bud McDaniel, George McDaniel and Johnny
McDaniel;
sisters Helen Waldon, Hazel Dillard and Ruby Thomas.
Mrs. Nichols will be missed by all,
especially by her family members, which include: daughter and
son-in-law, Peggy
and Winston Chambers, daughter, Diana Nichols, all of Blairsville,
sisters,
Willa Nell Jones and Patsy Hawkins both of Blue Ridge; brother, Howard
McDaniel
of the Higdon Community.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nichols
were held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the New Union Baptist
Church
with the Rev. Chad Underwood officiating. Mrs. Nichols was eulogized by
her
son-in-law, Winston Chambers. Music was provided by New Union Baptist
Church
Choir. Burial followed in the church
cemetery, with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tim
Odom, Jacob
Grizzle, Larry Akins, Tim Grizzle, Marty Payne, and Greg Odom. The
following
gentlemen served as honorary escort to the family: J.W. Payne, Bill
Abernathy,
Mike Payne and Bobby Jackson.
The family received friends at the
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, on Friday, May 25, 2012 5 p.m. - 9
p.m.

Annie H Tyler, age 100 of
Blairsville, GA went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2012. She
was born
in New Brockton, AL on Sunday, October 1, 1911 and moved to Seminole,
FL in
1930 where she resided until moving to Blairsville in 2008.
For many years she owned and
operated a retail and shipping citrus business called the Fruit Basket.
She was a member of the Seminole
Community Chapel, the Seminole Civic Club and the T.T.T. Society,
Florida
Chapter E.
The Highlight of her life was a trip
to the Holy Land which she had dreamed of and prayed for since she was
a child.
Her desire always was to walk in the earthly footsteps of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Leon Campbell Tyler, daughter, Betty Ann Tipton, parents,
Curtis and
Willa Bell Brunson Hutchison and 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving family members include:
daughter, Barbara T. (Jim) Reese of Blairsville, GA, grandsons, E.
James
(Noelle) Reese III of Hartwell, GA and Christopher M. Reese of
Seminole, FL, 3
great grandchildren, Brittany, Ashlyn and Logan Reese and numerous
nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were scheduled for
Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral
Home of
Blairsville with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. The family received
friends
Saturday from 2 until 3 p.m. Interment will be in the Seminole Pioneer
Cemetery
in St. Petersburg, FL Saturday, June 9th.

Mrs. Ruth Bladenspiel
Weber, age 90, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. She was born July 13,
1921 in
Buffalo, NY to the late Elizabeth Sadler and Paul Bladenspiel. She was
married
to the late Lt. Leo J. Weber for 69 years.
Ruth worked as a bookkeeper
in a doctor’s office, an accountant and secretary for her husband’s
business,
and a cashier in a grocery store. During WWII, she was a nurse’s aide
for the
Red Cross.
She
loved vegetable and flower gardening, and canning her own food. Ruth
was very
active in the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church as well as the
local
community. She started local ballroom and square dancing clubs, played
in
several card clubs, including duplicate bridge and canasta. She enjoyed
sewing
and designing her own patterns, artistic painting, refinishing
furniture, and
reading.
She
lives on through her daughter, Sharon E. White and husband, Robert W.
White,
son, Leo J. Weber Jr. and wife, Debby Hughes, son, Michael H. Weber and
wife,
Patti Weber, grandchildren, Roger W. White, Adam D. White, Vanessa A.
White,
Nathan Weber, Nicholas Weber, Michelle St. Clair, Julie Curin, and
Christopher
St. Clair, six great grandchildren, and sisters, Irene Scholl and the
late Rita
Pew Franks.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at St. Francis of Assisi
Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers make memorials to St. Francis of
Assisi
Catholic Church.

Lucille
Scurlock, 90, of Standish, MI,
loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at home
on
Monday, April 16, 2012.
Lucile was born to William and Mary
(Fortenberry) Teague on September 18, 1921 in Blairsville, GA. In 1942 she married Levon Scurlock in
Georgia.
Lucille was a resident of Standish
for the last 40 years. She was employed
at the Standish Community Hospital before retiring in 1992.
She is survived by her daughters,
Barbara (Anthony) Baker of Rochester Hills, NY, and Sandra (Edward)
Hiveley of
Standish; and one son, Kenneth Scurlock of Standish; seven
grandchildren,
Anthony Jr. and Kevin Baker, Karrie R. Secord, Keith and Derick DeBord,
and
Ryan and Kristie Scurlock; 12 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
Her husband Levon preceded her in
death on October 4, 1994.
Lucille's funeral service was held
on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11 am. at the R.O. Savage Funeral
Chapel, with
Pastor Devin Chisholm officiating. She
laid in state from 10 a.m. at the chapel until service time. Family greeted friends at the chapel
Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 7 - 9 p.m. and Friday, April 20, 2012
from 1-8
p.m. Burial was at the Woodmere Cemetery
in Standish following the service.

Mrs. Mary Ethel Coleman age 82 passed away at Union
General Hospital in Blairsville, GA early Saturday morning June 2,
2012.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday afternoon June 6,
2012 at
Plains United Methodist Church in Plains, GA with Rev. Lee Smith
officiating.
Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains. Pallbearers will be
grandsons
Josh Ybarra, Josh Warner, James Coleman, Richard Coleman, Spencer
Coleman and
Rusty Coleman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home
Tuesday
evening June 5, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Plains, GA, March 15, 1930 the
daughter of the late Bob Hale and Jessie Irene Wright. She was retired
from the
city of Plains, GA as City Clerk, former President of Plains United
Methodist
Women and former President of the Plains Lions Club, loved cooking and
collecting recipes, loved writing, traveling, and lived in Germany,
Syria and
Turkey at one time. She was a longtime member of Plains United
Methodist Church
before moving to Blairsville, GA where she attended Coosa United
Methodist
Church.
Mrs. Coleman is survived by her beloved husband of 63
years Henry Earl Coleman of Blairsville, GA; daughter and son-in-law;
Jo Anne
Allen and Tom of Blairsville, GA; three sons and daughters-in-law;
Christopher
Coleman and Kathryn of Durham, NC; Russell Coleman and Brenda of
Americus, GA;
Gordon Coleman of Plains, GA; brother and sister-in-law; Robert Bunion
Hale and
Dixie of Americus, GA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Josh
Ybarra wife
Tiffany, Josh Warner wife Becky, James Coleman wife Jessie, Richard
Coleman,
Spencer Coleman wife Calley; Kate Coleman, Meri Brooke Coleman, and
Rusty
Coleman wife Randi; eleven great grandchildren; Christopher Ray Warner,
Caleb
Michael Warner, Thalia Warner, Adrian Ybarra, Olivia Ybarra, McKenzie
Coleman,
Hannah Grace Coleman, Abby Elizabeth Coleman, Makaylyn Fae Coleman,
Justin
Coleman and Jason Coleman also a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Coleman was
preceded in death by two Sisters and two Brothers.
