Mr.
Denver
Joe Loftis, age 60, of Blairsville, GA. formerly of Cookeville, Tenn.
Passed
away at his home Saturday, June 21, 1997.
Mr.
Loftis was born in Jackson County, Tenn., a son of
Carlin Champ and Della Moore Loftis, on September 11, 1936. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of
the Blairsville Church of Christ.
Survivors
include his wife, Peggy Thompson Loftis of the home; four children,
Gary Wayne
Loftis, Roger Dale Loftis and Jimmy Dean Loftis all of Blairsville,
GA., and
Kathy Joann Gordon of Asheville, NC; Father Carlin champ Loftis of
Cookeville,
TN; four sisters, Christine Miles of St. Claire Shores, Mich.,
Magadalene
Langford, Willene Phy and Georgia Morgan all of Cookeville, TN.; two
brothers,
Bobby Loftis of Muncie, IND. And Bill Loftis of Cookeville, TN.; eight
grandchildren
also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, June 23, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel
of
Hooper-Huddleston Funeral Home in Baxter, TN., with Minister Terry
Stewart officiating. Burial was in New
Hope Baptist Cemetery in
Boma, TN.

Mr. James
Edgar Katsch, age 87, of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, June 14,
1997 in
Union County Nursing Home.
Mr.
Katsch was born November 26, 1909 in Lowndes County, a
son of the late Willie Augustus and Lula Sweet Katsch.
He had lived in Union County since 1975 and
was a retired pharmacist.
Survivors include
his wife, Mrs. Marguerite Katsch; son, James Edgar kitsch Jr. of
Leicester, NC;
daughter, marguerite Webb of Greenville, NC; four grandchildren and two
great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 2 p.m. from Cochran
Funeral Home
with Reverend Charles Black officiating.

Mr. Harry
Daniel Shelamer, age 95, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Norfolk, VA
passed
away Monday, June 16, 1997 following a period of declining health. Mr. Shelamer was an inspector for the state
of Virginia most of his working life. He
was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Ely Shelamer, parents Harry
W. and
Harreitt (sic)Cheitzber Shelamer, brothers
Arthur m.
(sic) Shelamer and Charles L. Shelamer, Sr.
Surviving are one sister-in-law Mrs. Dorothy Shelamer of Ft.
Myers, FL;
niece Mrs. Joan Smith of Blairsville, GA; nephews-Mr. Shelley Shelamer
of Boise,
ID, Mr. A.M. Shelamer, Jr. of Chicago, IL; and a number of great nieces
and
nephews. Graveside services were held on
Sunday, June 22, 1997 at 2 p.. from
the Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Virginia Beach, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Shelamer. Banister
