Mrs.
Ethel Desmer Fox, age 83, of Hiawassee, GA. passed away Monday, June
17, 1996 following
an extended illness.
Surviving
are daughters: Mrs. Barbara Baltzell of Kennesaw, GA., Mrs. Sandra Fell
of
Grandy, CO., Mrs. Pat Walls of Hiawassee, GA.; sons, Connie fox of
Savannah,
GA., Clay Fox of Alpex, NC, Milo Fox of Blairsville, GA., Joe Fox of
Hiawassee,
GA., Jeff Fox of Blairsville, GA.; brother Silvey Harkins of
Blairsville, GA.;
sisters, Mrs. Ada Johnson, Mrs. Maedell Weaver and Mrs. Donnie Burnett
all of
Blairsville, GA.; 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number
of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, June 20, 1996 at 3:30 p.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Glenn Eller officiating.
Interment was in the Owltown Cemetery.

Mr. Tony
Vitale, 69, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 16, 1996
in Blairsville
at his home.
Mr. Vitale was born in New
York on April 29, 1927, a son of Carmine and Nancy Vitale.
He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S.
Navy. He had lived in this area since
1989, coming here from Florida. Mr.
Vitale was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving
are his wife, Annie Maude, of the Home (sic); step daughters, Elaine
Champlin, Ann
Hughes, Linda Floyd, Judy Adams, and Joan Hughes, all of Blairsville;
Kathleen
Cook, of Morganton; Sandra Hills, of Bowling Green, KY; and Vicki Dean
of
Cleveland; step sons, Charles Vessley of Lake Worth, FL; Rev. Harold
Underwood
of Browning, Montana; Horace Underwood, Dale Underwood, and Curtis
Underwood,
and Jeff Underwood, all of Blairsville; several step grandchildren and
step
great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, June 18, 1996 at 11 .m. from the Chapel of
Cochran
Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Jones and Rev. F.C. Wimpey officiating. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Jackie Cook, Cris Killian, Greg Dorsey, Steve Odom, Chad
Underwood, and Chris Hills. Members of
the North Georgia honor (sic) Guard conferred military honors at Holly
Hills
Veterans Cemetery in Blairsville. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be
made
to a trust fund set up to help with Mr. Vitale’s medical expenses.
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of arrangements.

Florence
H. Sharrock, 86, of Hobe Sound, FL., and Blairsville, GA, passed away
Tuesday,
June 18 after a brief illness.
A native of
Clay County, KY., she lived in Hobe Sound for 25 years and had spent
the last
15 summer seasons in Blairsville.
Survivors
include Jim Marr of Hobe Sound; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jim and
Sandra
Sharrock of Blairsville, and Dale and Leah Sharrock of Palm Beach
Gardens, Fl;
two sisters, Nora Smith and Dosha Wagers of Manchester, KY; four
grandsons,
Todd, Sean, Taylor and Cameron Sharrock; and a niece, Mary Wheeler of
Cincinnati,
Ohio.
Services
were held Saturday, June 22 in Jupiter, FL. With
Interment
(sic) following in All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach, FL.
Those who

and St. Lucie Inc., 2030 S.E. Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL.

Mrs.
Donna F. Stroud, age 30, of Young Harris, GA passed away Friday, June
14,
1996. Mrs. Stroud was born on in Union
County, the daughter of Gerald and Opal Lovell McGaha and had lived
most of her
life in Towns County.
Surviving
are her husband, John Neil Stroud of Young Harris; Parents (sic), Mr.
and Mrs.
Gerald McGaha of Young Harris; daughter and son Shawnda Stroud and
Trevor
Stroud of the home; stepdaughter and stepson, Penny and John Stroud of
Hayesville, NC; brothers, Gerald D. McGaha, Jr. and Aaron McGaha both
of Young
Harris; sisters, Mrs. CaSandra (sic) Green of Blairsville, Mrs. Sharon
Rowland
of Hayesville, NC and one nephew.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, June 16, 1996 at 2 p.m. from the Old
Brasstown
Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers and the Rev. Waymon Lovell
officiating. Interment was in the church
cemetery.
