mr. william snow payne, jr.

 

Mr. William Snow Payne Jr., age 93, of Frank Martin Rd., Blairsville passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2005 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mr. Payne was born on Feb. 16, 1912 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late William Snow Payne, Sr. and the late Ruby Forsner Payne.  He had been a Church of Christ Minister since the age of seventeen.  He pastured in Vero Beach and also in Homestead, FL.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Byrdie L. Acuffe Payne in 1993, a son, Robert Edward Payne, and also by four brothers, Jack, Joe, Lewis and Herman Payne.  Mr. Payne was a member of the Blairsville Church of Christ.

Surviving Mr. Payne are Marcella Hudson of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, William S. Payne, III and Geraldine of Tampa, FL, five grandchildren, Charlinda Yates of Mt. Dora, FL, Debrah Harrison of Atlanta, Darlene Ingham of Tampa, William Snow Payne, IV, four great grandchildren, Leonard Lender, Shannon Dukes, Rhianna Harrison and Billy Payne, V, one great great grandchild, Tristan Linder, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Payne were held on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. from the Blairsville Church of Christ with Minister Terry Stuart officiating.  In lieu of flowers if you wish the family requests that memorials may be made to Camp Wetoga Bible Camp in Mr. Payne’s memory.

mr. buel vendell long

 

Mr. Buell Vendell Long, age 64, of Chevrolet Lane, Blairsville passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at his home following an extended illness.  Mr. Long was born on Aug. 11, 1940 in Union County, the son of the late Buford Long and the late Martha Duvall Long.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County.  He had retired from Georgia Boot with over twenty-five years of service.  Preceding him in death are a brother, J.C. Long and a sister, Lennie Bell Dockery.  Mr. Long was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Long are his loving wife of forty-five years, Lois Monkus Long of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Peggy Long of Blairsville, three sisters, Johnnie Dockery of Young Harris, Annie Mae Anderson of Blairsville, Callie Dockery of Hayesville, one grandson, Casey Long of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. William Sisum officiating.  Special music was presented by L.D. and the Happy Pilgrims.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, B.L. Anderson, Junior Phillips, Larry Maney, Danny Arrowood, Randy Thomas and Ricky Long.  Interment followed in the Long cemetery.

mrs. anna victoria west feldmann

 

Mrs. Anna Victoria West Feldmann, age 95 of Blairsville, formerly of Palm Beach County, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2005 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Feldmann was born on Dec. 8, 1909 in East Orange, NJ, the daughter of the late Oscar West and the late Ida Holmberg West.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Feldmann in 1983.  She was a lifelong resident of Palm Beach County.  Mrs. Feldmann was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving Mrs. Feldmann are one daughter and son-in-law, Alexis and Kenneth Embler of Blairsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Carrie West of Modena, NY; five grandchildren, Susan Embler of Miami, FL, Shelly Petrolia of Delray Beach, FL, Kristin Embler of Blairsville, Jennifer Prosperi of Miami, Mark Embler of Albany, GA, five great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service for Mrs. Feldmann will be held at a later date and will be announced.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family request that memorials may be made to the Union County Humane Society Mountain Shelter in Mrs. Feldmann’s memory. were held on officiating.
