Mrs.
Grace Grizzle Abercrombie, age 78, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Abercrombie was born in Suches,
Georgia, on February 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Lewis and Rebecca
Milberry Jarrard Grizzle. She was a
lifelong resident of this area and a homemaker.
Grace loved to garden, enjoyed reading, and was of the Baptist
faith. Preceding her in death besides
her parents, was her husband Garnie; and three sons: Larry, Jerry, and
Kenneth
Abercrombie; brothers, Grady, Garnie and Richard Grizzle; sisters, Mary
Pickelsimer, Grapelle Pickelsimer, Lizzie Carder and Julia Grizzle.
Surviving family members include
grandson and his wife, Barry and Jenny Abercrombie, of Blairsville;
great
granddaughters: Callie Abercrombie and Savannah Abercrombie. Several nieces, nephews and many friends also
survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday,
June 23, 2010, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home, with
Rev. Don
Hood officiating. Music was provided by
Mrs. Cindy Strickland. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Zack Stafford, Richard Stafford, Jerry
Webb,
Dave Grizzle, Kevin Grizzle, and Mike Crenshaw.
Burial was in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. James
Joseph Orth, age 64, of Talon
Trace, Blairsville, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 suddenly
following
injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Orth was born on March 29,
1946 in Brooklyne, MA, the son of the late Charles T. Orth and the late
Angela
Ryan Orth. He retired in 2001 as a
fireman from the City of Brockton, MA with over thirty-three years of
service. He was a loving husband,
father, brother and grandfather. He was
an avid golfer and was a member the Butternut Golf Course and was a
member of
the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Orth was a
member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Surviving Mr. Orth are his loving
wife of forty-six years, Lorraine Smith Orth of Blairsville, two sons,
James
Orth of Cape Cod, MA, Thomas Orth of Bridgewater, MA, one sister, Diane
MacNeil
of Whitman, MA, four grandchildren, James Joshua Orth, Jordan Arlene
Orth,
Charlotte E. Orth and Jillian S. Orth, many other relatives and friends
also
survive.
Funeral services were held on
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. from the St. Francis of Assisi
Catholic
Church with Father Richard Wise officiating.
Special music was presented by Ron Gaucher.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests that memorials may be made to the Union County Humane Society
Mountain
Shelter in memory of Mr. Orth. The
family met with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8
p.m.
with a Rosary being held at 7 p.m.

Mrs.
Clara Bell Collins, age 82, of Young
Harris Hwy., Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the
New
Horizons Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Collins was born on Jan. 8, 1928 in
Young Harris, GA, the daughter of the late Alexander H. Stephens and
the late
Julie Ann Land Stephens. She was a
lifelong resident of Union county. Mrs.
Collins worked in the lunchroom at the Union County High School for
several
years. She enjoyed quilting and
gardening. She was a loving mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs.
Collins was a member of Old Union Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Collins are one son
and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Louise Collins of Auburn, GA, two
grandchildren, Ronald Collins and William Wallace both of Auburn, GA,
three
great-grandchildren, Dewey Collins, Elijah Wallace and Ansley Collins,
many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Friday,
June 25, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev.
Jimmy
Rogers officiating. The following
gentlemen
served as pallbearers, William Wallace, Sandy McNab, Ronnie Collins,
Ronald
Collins, Stacy Stephens, J.D. Stephens and Mike Stephens.
Interment followed in the Old Union Baptist
Church Cemetery. The family met with
friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m.

Mrs.
Helen Weber, age 97, of Lake Notley
Drive, Blairsville, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010 in the Union
General
Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs.
Weber was born on November 29, 1912 in
Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late William Harding and the late Lena
Baumgartner Harding. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Charles Weber in 1964 and by a son, Allan Weber
in
1957. She was a loving mother, sister,
grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Weber was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving Mrs. Weber are one
daughter and son-in-law, June and Vincent Greaves of Blairsville, one
son,
Ronald Weber of Branford, FL, one sister, Irene Schanbach of
Alexandria, VA,
two brothers, Joseph Harding of Delaware, Fred Harding of Leonardo, NJ,
seven
grandchildren, Lynn Alderman, Vincent Greaves Jr., Allan Greaves,
Laurie
Maynard, Lee Ann Amico, Jonathan Weber and Michael Weber, seven
great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, many other
relatives and
friends also survive.
No services are planned. In lieu of

Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church in memory of Mrs. Weber.
