Mrs.
Grace B. Nevers, age 82, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 29, 1995 in Murphy
Medical Center
in Murphy.
Mrs. Nevers was born in Illinois on
October 12, 1912. She had lived in this
area for twenty one years, coming here from Lake Park, Florida. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church
of Blairsville.
Surviving are her husband, Mr. Lu
Nevers of the home; son, David Nevers of Blairsville; daughters,
Mary-Grace
Lefils of Covington, Georgia and Lucinda Lee Nevers of Lantana,
Florida; two
sisters, Dorothea Deharo of Silver Lake, New Hampshire and Frances
Reading of
Claremore, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren
also
survive.
Memorial services will be held
Saturday, July 8, 1995 at 3 p.m. fro First church of the Nazarene,
located at
the corner of Kimsey and Shoe Factory road in Blairsville with Rev.
Frank
Visser officiating.
In lieu
of flowers,
the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association, P.O. Box 779, Minneapolis, MN 55440-0779.

Mr. Larry
Roger Nix, age 48, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Monday, June 26, 1995.
Mr. Nix was born in Hall County, Georgia. He
was a member of Owltown Church of God.
Surviving are his son, Chris Nix, of
Blairsville; his daughter, Sabrina Nix, also of Blairsville; parents,
Eugene
and Nova Lee Tanner Nix of Blairsville; three sisters, Hattie Gilbert,
Tammy
Rhoten, and Linda Duckworth, all of Blairsville; two brothers, Terry
Nix and
Perry Nix, both of Blairsville; several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday
June 29, 1995 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Funeral Home with Rev.
Claude
Thomas officiating. Special music was
presented by Hubert and Betty Legg. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Ed Everett, Larry Rich,
Terry
Burrell, Donnie Gibson, Terry Akins, and Ronnie Odom.
Interment was in Owltown Church of God
Cemetery.

Mr. Homer
P. Jacobs, age 77, of Brannan
Lodge, Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, June 25, 1995 at his
home.
Mr. Jacobs had lived in Blairsville
for the past fifteen years. He was a
veteran of the U.S. army and served during World War II.
Mr. Jacobs was a member of Antioch Baptist
Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida
Jacobs, of Blue Ridge; two sons, Albert Jacobs of Mechanicsville, VA;
and
Michael Jacobs of the Dial community of Fannin County; one step son,
Dan Cronan
of Blue Ridge; one sister, Louise Horne of Hartsville, SC; one half
sister,
Nellie Green of Union, SC; and two grandchildren, Kristen and Phillip
Jacobs of
Mechanicsville.
Memorial services were held Wednesday,
June 28, 1995 at 11 am. (sic) from the Chapel of the Funeral Home with
Rev.
Bill Gowder officiating.

Mr.
Robert Jackson Barton, age 81, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, June 25, 1995 in Hayesville,
North
Carolina.
Mr. Barton was born June 14, 1914 in
Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Stanley and Jessie H. Barton. He was retired from Underwriters
Laboratories, where he had worked for forty seven years.
Mr. Barton had lived in this area since July
of 1986. He was a member of First United
Methodist Church of Union County, and Allegheny Masonic Lodge, #114, F
&
AM.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Marion Barton of the home; daughter, Susan H. Barton of Blairsville;
son and
daughter-in-law, Kent H. and Jo Anne Barton of Young Harris, GA;
sister,
Harriett Langevin of Branford, Connecticut; two grandchildren and two
great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday,
June 28, 1995 at 2 p.m. from First United Methodist Church of Union
County with
Dr. Robert Darby officiating. Special
music for the service was presented by Janice and Lyn Catron. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers:
Ronald Taylor, Marvin Hernden, Tom Rogers, Larry Willey, Fred Williams
and Bill
Cross. Members of Allegheny Masonic
Lodge served as Honorary Escort to the family.
Interment was in Union memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville.
In lieu
of flowers,
the family respectfully requests donations be made to First United
Methodist
Church Building Fund.
