forrest dever phillips


Mr. Forrest Dever Phillips, age 85, of Hillsyde Drive, Blairsville, formerly of Forest Park, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2002 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  Mr. Phillips was born on June 29, 1917 in Americus, GA the son of the late Elijah Phillips and the late Eulah Hall Phillips.  He had retired from General Motors.  He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.  Mr. Phillips was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Sikes Phillips in 2001.

Surviving Mr. Phillips are two sons and one daughter in law, Ronald and Pat Phillips of Blairsville, Kenny Phillips of Chattanooga, TN, two brother, Ferrel Phillips of Kennesaw, Kelley Phillips of Avon Park, FL., two sisters, Myrtice Sander of Eat Point, Helen White of Jonesboro, three grandchildren, Gloria Webber, Tammy Harris and Jay Harris, four great grandchildren, Rob Williams III, Matthew Webber, Jason and Joey Harris, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday July 10, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from the Parkway Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lynnward Phillips officiating.  Interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Rex, GA.
