Mrs. Sue Henson
Stephens, age 87, of Red Maple Lane, Blairsville, passed away
Wednesday, July
11, 2012 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. She was
born
December 16, 1924, in Blairsville, to the late John Boyd and Gertrude
Hemphill
Henson. Mrs. Stephens loved her family with all her heart, she also
loved gospel
music, flowers and her hometown of Blairsville and Tweeter her cat.
Mrs.
Stephens was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. She was preceded in death by brothers, Derwood, John,
Billy, Bobby
and Jimmy Henson, sisters Fannie Owenby and Delores Knight.
Surviving are her
husband of 65 years, June Stephens of Blairsville, sons and
daughters-in-law,
Tommy and Rebecca Stephens of Flowery Branch and David and Laura
Stephens of
Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jim Harris of
Braselton, seven
grandchildren, Dana & Will Craig, Derek Stephens, Leigh Anne
Stephens, Jake
Stephens, Leslie and Mike Vincent, Spike and Megan Harris and Clint and
Brooke
Seabolt, six great grandchildren, Sawyer, Sola, Jack, Drew, Charlie and
Zachary,
four sisters-in-law, Frances, Polly and Joyce Henson and Lula Stephens,
many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home
Chapel with
Rev. Chris Rumfelt officiating. Music was by Sue's nieces, Melissa
Collins,
Leslie Hughes and great nephew, Will Arrant. Pallbearers were Jake
Stephens, Derek
Stephens, Spike Harris, Will Craig, Jason Henson, and Eddie Davis. In
lieu of
flowers if you wish make memorials to the Union County Humane Society
Mountain
Shelter.

Mr. Lawrence Edward
Kline, age 74, of Ellee Lane, Blairsville passed away, Saturday, July
14, 2012
at his home following an extended illness. He was born February 9, 1938
in
Frederick, MD to the late Lorenzo and Florence Moberly Kline. Mr. Kline
moved
here in 2009. He was a member of the Mayberry Archery Club, and he
enjoyed
hunting, fishing, golf, crossword puzzles, woodworking, music and
NASCAR. Mr.
Kline was preceded in death by a nephew, Eddie Rhoderick in 2012. He
was a U S
Airforce Veteran. He attended Old Brasstown Baptist Church.
Survivors include his
wife of 30 years, Rita Kline of Blairsville, children, Mark Mann of
Westminister, MD, Missy and Perry Atkinson of Cambridge, MD, Shawn and
Laurie
Mann of Westminister, MD, Sherry and Wayne Trail of Chaneyville, PA and
Greg
Trail of Hesston, PA, sisters, Sandra and Ronald Ashby of Littlestown,
PA and Edna
Stambaugh of Sykesville, MD, six grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
Memorial services were
held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home
Chapel with
Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Music was be (sic) by Don Byers. The
family
received friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Vernice V. West
Roberts, age 84, of Wesley Mtn. Dr., Blairsville, GA passed away
Wednesday,
July 11, 2012 at Union General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was
born December 26, 1927 in Gainesville, GA to the late Lee and Montine
Davis
West. Mrs. Roberts moved here 7 years ago from Gainesville, GA. She was
a caring,
giving and loving person, loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and
great
grandmother. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by brothers, Herman,
Harold,
Frank, Gene, and Davis West, sisters, Louise Smith and Betty Jo Gooch,
and her
first husband, Fred E. Roberts. She attended First Baptist Church of
Blairsville.
Survivors include son
and daughter-in-law, Fred and Linda Roberts of Blairsville, sisters,
Gail and
Herbert Hudgins of Gainesville, Kathleen McHann of Buford, brothers,
Robert L.
and Carolyn West of Cleveland and Claude and Deborah West of Dalton,
two
grandchildren, Tricia and Bill Hutchcraft of Tampa, FL and Doug and
Melissa
Roberts of Blairsville, two great grandchildren, Cameron and Casey
Roberts,
several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were
held Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the New Bridge Baptist Church
with
Pastor Gary Olsteen officiating. Music was provided by Gary and Anita
Smith.
Interment followed in the New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The
family
received friends at Mountain View Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6
until 8
p.m., and at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6
until 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers if you wish make donations to the Gideon's for
Bibles in
Mrs. Roberts memory.

The Cochran Funeral Home of
Blairsville announces memorial services for Mr. Timothy Glen Alderman,
age 78,
of Blairsville who passed away at his home on Friday, July 13, 2012.
Glen was born in Bartow, FL on March
21, 1934. In his youth he was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of
Eagle Scout.
He served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. For 25 years he was
a member
of the Willow Oak Volunteer Fire Department and was instrumental in
building
the fire station and Community Center there. He retired in 1996 and
moved to
Blairsville where he worked at Vogel State Park, and was also a
volunteer there
for many years.
He will be fondly remembered by all
who knew him, but especially missed by his family: Loving wife of 52
years,
Barbara Matthes Alderman of Blairsville; daughters, Joni Alderman and
Jennifer
Dyer of Blairsville; sons, Tim Alderman (Denise) and Todd Alderman of
Mulberry,
FL, twin brother Sam Alderman (Janet) of Mulberry; sister, Ernestine
Stavely of
Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was
pre-deceased by two grandsons, Josh and Ryan Alderman of Mulberry.
Memorial services were held at 6:30
p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Vogel State Park under the main
pavilion with
Travis Henry officiating. Special Music provided by Carli Kidd and
grandson,
Dustin Whitney. The family received friends from 6 until the service
began. In
lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Friends of Vogel
State Park.
