Mr.
H.J. “Hub” Pickelsimer, age 89, a native and lifelong resident of
Suches,
Georgia passed away Sunday, June 27, 1999 at his home following an
extended
illness.
Mr.
Pickelsimer was born in Union County, Georgia, on Friday, July 23,
1909, a son
of the late Andy Pickelsimer and Mary Payne Pickelsimer.
He had been employed by the
U.S. Forestry Service. Mr. Pickelsimer
was a member of Cornith Baptist Church, and had been a deacon there for
over 50
years. He was also a member of the
Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Gaddistown Lodge #4.
Mr. Pickelsimer had been preceded in death by
his wife, Grapelle Grizzle Pickelsimer, in 1997.
Surviving
are daughter and son in law, Bessie and Robert Bridges, of Suches;
sister,
Grovie Grizzle, of Blairsville; grandson, Jody Bridges, of Suches;
sister in
law, Wilma Pickelsimer, of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews
also a
host of friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville, with the Rev. Horace Potts and Rev. Don
Hood
officiating. Special music was presented
by the Glory Bound Quartet. The
following gentlemen serves as pallbearers; Mitchell Pickelsimer, Vaughn
Grizzle, Lloyd Allen, Vaughn Ricketts, Tim Davis, Junior Bridges, the
following
gentlemen served as honorary escort to the family: Eldo and Clyde
Harkins,
Harley and Ira Harkins, and Tom B. Burnett.
Interment was in Cornith Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr.
Robert Harold Hull, age 61, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away on
Saturday,
July 10, 1999 ion the Union General Hospital, following an extended
illness. Mr. Hull was born March 13,
1938 in Weedow, Alabama, the son of the late Ross Hull and the late
Vernon
Grizzle Hull. Mr. Hull had lived in
Union County for the past fifteen years.
He was employed by the Union County Road Department for a number
of
years and was the fire chief of Station #3 volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Hull was a member of St. Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors
include his wife of thirty years, Barbara Hull of Blairsville; four
sons:
Thomas Hull, of Taylor, Michigan, Paul, Patrick, and Eric Hull of
Lincoln Park,
Michigan, four daughters: Theresa crisp and Elizabeth Damer, both of
Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa Owens of Virginia beach, Virginia, and Susan
Hull of
Blairsville, GA; five sisters, Ruby Belt of Mineral Bluff, Mrs. J.R.
Belt, of
Atlanta, Louise Lavender of Douglasville, Mearl Blodgett of Jamestown,
CAL.,
and Patricia Chitwood, of Jonesboro; several grandchildren, great
grandchildren,
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, July 12, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the St.
Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church with Father Tim Gadziala and the Rev. Stacy Dyer
officiating. Special music was provided
by the Harmony Grove Choir. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: David Dyer, George Holland,
Silas
Bohannon, Rickey Dyer, Luke Hedden, Roger Seabolt, Clyde Meade, Thomas
Hull,
and Patrick Hull, honorary pallbearers were Charles Worden, Gene
Nelson, and
Ernie Pruitt. Interment was in the
harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Ellen Bingham Moore, age 60, native and
lifelong resident of Union county, GA, passed away Monday, July 12,
1999 from
injuries she sustained in an automobile accident.
Mrs.
Moore was born in Union County, GA on Wednesday, February 22, 1939,
a daughter of Roy Bingham and Dovie Towe Bingham. She
was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church,
and was the widow of the late Ralph Moore, who passed away in 1993.
Surviving
are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jack and Shiela Moore and
Ben and Cindy Moore, all of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Pat
and Keith
Donaldson, of Blairsville; her parents, Roy and Dovie Bingham of
Blairsville;
sisters, Blanche Patterson, Sara Anderson, Betty Brewer, Bonnie
Tolliver, Mary
Holbrook, all of Blairsville, and Diane Simmons of Helen, GA; brothers,
Roy
Bingham, Jr. of Hiawassee, Joe Bingham of Ranger, NC, and Tony Bingham
of
Blairsville; grandchildren, Jason, Jeffrey, Matthew, Sharon, Chris and
Stephen
Moore, and Will Donaldson, all of Blairsville; many friends and other
relatives
also survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the
chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Horace Potts
and Rev.
Waymon Lovell officiating. Special music
presented by The Kelley Trio. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Freeman Chastain, Jerry
Brewer, Phil
Tolliver, Carol Gillespie, Wayne Patterson, and R.M. Dyer.
The following gentlemen served as honorary
escort to the family: LeRoy Anderson, Sammy Holbrook, Garnie Anderson
and Bill
Donaldson. Interment was in Providence
Methodist Church Cemetery.
