Mrs.
Myrtle
Winn, 83, of Blairsville, passed away Monday, July 14, 1997 in Union
General
Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Winn
was born May 26, 1914, in Union County, Georgia, a
daughter of the late Newt Collins; and Lissie Nix Collins.
She was a homemaker and a member of Choestoe
Baptist Church. Mrs. Winn and her
husband moved to Colorado in 1947, and moved back to Union County in
1977.
Surviving are her husband, Albert
Winn, of Blairsville; nieces,
nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, July 17, 1997 at 11 a.m. from the chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Benny Nix and Rev. Howard
Collins
officiating. Special music was presented
by Ken and Elaine Young. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Lamar
Collins, Voy Youngblood, Charles Spiva, Gene Spiva, Don Winn, and
Kenneth
Winn. Serving as honorary escort to the
family was Dennis Hamby and Bill Foster.

Mrs.
Bonnie Nichols Ownbey, age 74, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Wednesday,
July 9, 1997 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee.
Mrs.
Ownbey was born in Union County, Georgia, on June 16,
1923, a daughter of the late John Nichols and Callie Rector Nichols. She was a lifelong resident of this
area. Mrs. Ownbey was a school teacher
and a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.
She had been preceded in death by her
husband, Sam Hughes in 1957, and husband, Barney Ownbey, in 1987.
Surviving
are brother and sister-in-law, Ellard and Anna Lou Nichols of
Blairsville;
sister, Flossie wise (sic) of Marietta, GA.; sister-in-law, Anna Mae
Nichols of
Blairsville; five stepchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other
relatives also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, July 12, 1997 at 11 a.m. from the chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Parris officiating.
Special music was presented by Kathy

Henry L. Krigline, age 58, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday,

14, 1997 following a brief illness. Mr.
Krigline was born in Washington, PA the son of the late Frank and
Isabel
Feather Krigline. Mr. Krigline was a
veteran and was an auto mechanic.
Mr.
Krigline is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carol Krigline of

Birdie Ingram Young, age 100, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Tuesday,
July 15, 1997 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mrs.
Young was born in Sunburst, North Carolina, on
September 25, 1896, a daughter of the late Fate Ingram and Jane
Winchester
Ingram. She was a homemaker and had
lived most of her life in this area.
Mrs. Young was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Her husband, Zeke Young, and three sons, Allan
Young, Floyd Young, and J.B. Young, preceded her in death.
Surviving
are daughters, Pauline McCarter of Blairsville and Loujine (sic) Shuler
of
Walden, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 13 great
great
grandchildren also survive.

Wayne Bowling, age 80, of Nokomis, Florida, formerly of Blairsville,
Georgia,
passed away Wednesday, July 16, 1997 in a Venice, Florida hospital. Mr. Bowling was a native of Union County, but
had lived and worked in Michigan for 30 years before retiring and
moving to
Florida.
Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Mary Belle McGlamery
Bowling of Nokomis, Florida; son, Jerry Bowling of Atlanta; daughter,

McCoy of Ypsilanti, Michigan; sister, Cora Denney of Blairsville; and

John A. Baggett, age 50, of Union County, Georgia, passed away

19, 1997 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Baggett was born in
Catoosa County, Georgia, on
November 5, 1946. He was a veteran of
the U.S. navy. He had lived in the area
for the past seventeen years. Mr. Baggett
