Mrs. Mary
Helen
Bryson, age 70, of Hedge Lane, Blairsville, passed away on Friday, July
22,
2011 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs.
Bryson was born on Feb. 11, 1941 in
Fannin County, the daughter of the late Harvey Allen and the late
Laurie Cole
Allen. She was a lifelong resident of
Union County. Mary enjoyed reading and
sewing. She was a loving mother, sister,
grandmother and great grandmother. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Bryson in 2006, a son,
Michael
Bryson in 2003, two brothers, Hank and Dewey Allen, two sisters, Bonnie
Fortenberry and Pauline Priest. Mrs.
Bryson was a member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mrs.
Bryson are two daughters, Cindy Bryson of Blairsville and Janice Bryson
of St.
Augustine, FL, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Willie and Arlen
Bentley of
Pikesville, KY, Lorene and Eugene Franklin of Blairsville, Beulah and
George
Hooks of Knoxville, TN, one brother, Clifford Allen of South Gate, MI,
nine
grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Patterson, Heather and Marshall
Cornett,
Amanda Griffin, Brittney Cobb, Steven Beaver, Joshua, Dustin, Justin
and
Kristen Bryson, ten great-grandchildren, many other relatives and
friends also
survive.
Funeral
services were
held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel
with the
Rev. Buck Dills officiating. Special
music was presented by Josh Dills. The
following gentleman served as pallbearers, Arnold Patterson, Matt
Patterson,
Marshall Cornett, Joe Ivester, Steven Beaver and brad (sic) Earls. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist
Church Cemetery. The family met with
friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening 6-9 p.m.

Mrs.
Caroline Rose
Reader, age 80, of Doefield St., Canton, GA, formerly of Blairsville,
passed
away on Monday, July 18, 2011 in Marietta following an extended
illness. Mrs. Reader was born on July 7,
1931 in
Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Everett Henry Long and the
late Viola
Cooper Long. Caroline had lived in the
Blairsville area from 1983-2005 before moving to Canton to be with her
son. While living in Blairsville she had
worked at
McDonalds for several years. She had
taught Sunday School at Bellview Methodist Church and also at the First
Baptist
Church in Atlanta. She was a devout
servant to her Lord and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and
grandmother. She was preceded in death by
her husband,
Percy George Reader in 2002, four sisters and one brother. Mrs. Reader was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Atlanta.
Surviving
Mrs.
Reader are two sons, Mark Powers of Canton, Stephen Powers of Canton,
two
grandchildren, Matthew Dewayne Powers and Rachel Jean Powers both of
Canton,
GA, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were
held on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel
with
the Rev. Steve Rhoten officiating. Special
music was presented by Martha Davenport. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers,
Ronnie McDonald, David Darnell, Todd Darnell, Tom Johnson and Mark
Powers. Interment followed in the Holly
Hill
Cemetery. The family met with at the
funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m.

Mrs.
Jenelle Ellen
Goldin age 61 of Bud Mason Road, Blairsville passed away on Thursday,
July 14,
2011 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.
Mrs. Goldin
was born on July 18, 1949 in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of the late
James Thomas
Goldin and the late Martha Mae Powell Goldin. Jenelle
had retired in 2000 as a caseworker
with the Department of Human Resources with over thirty-one years of
service. She had moved to Blairsville from
Atlanta in
2004. Mrs. Goldin was of the
Presbyterian faith.
Surviving
Mrs.
Goldin are one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Janine Goldin of
Melbourne
Beach, FL, three nieces, Kimberly Komenda of Ballground, GA, Laura
Komenda and
Victoria Komenda both of Melbourne Beach, FL, several cousins, aunts,
uncles,
many other relatives and friends also survive.
A
memorial service
will be held on Saturday July 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the Epworth
United
Methodist Church on McClendon Avenue in Atlanta with the Rev. Wendall
Rush
officiating. In lieu of flowers if you
wish,
the family requests that memorials may be made to the Humane Society or
to
S.A.F.E. in memory of Mrs. Goldin.

Mae Floyd
McKenzie Stephens died on May 29,
2011. Some of her first family’s names
were not included the first time this was printed in the newspapers.
Mae Floyd
McKenzie
was born December 25, 1919 in the Hiwassee Dam area of North Carolina
to the
late John Wesley Floyd (deceased May 26, 1954) and Nora Melissa Crain
Floyd
(deceased April 6, 1977). Mae was
preceded in death by her first husband John David McKenzie on May 24,
1959;
brothers, George W. Floyd (December 26, 1958), Clyde H. Floyd (May 22,
2001),
Paul W. Floyd (April 8, 2001); and sister, Gladys Walls (March 5,
2020), all
from the Hiwassee Dam area of North Carolina.
Mae and
John
McKenzie are survived by daughter, Gwyneth “Gwyn” Murphy and Joe Yaita,
Hiwassee Dam area; brothers, Ernest and Casteel Casey Floyd, Hiwassee
Dam area;
grandchildren and families: Sleana and Jackie Cook and daughters,
Whitney and
Chelsey; David and Mary Murphy and daughters, Faith and Jaiden; Lisa
and
Michael Renbarger and children, Jeremy and Morgan; Shirley and Casey
Bryson and
children, Tyler, amber and Logan, all from Blairsville, GA.
Mae
McKenzie was
remarried to Mitchell Stephens in 1958.
Mae’s name became Willa Mae Stephens.
Willa Mae moved to Blairsville, GA in 1958 and raised her second
family. Willa Mae and Mitchell had two
daughters,
Linda Gail Stephens (deceased in 2010) and Gizelle Thomas, and
granddaughter
Brittany.

Mrs.
Beverly Jean Moore, age 86, of Meadowood Lane, Blairsville, passed away
on
Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Union County Nursing Home following an
extended
illness. Mrs. Moore was born on Feb. 6,
1925 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Ray W. Tryon and the
late Grace
McKinney Tryon. She was the owner and
president
of Moore Industrial Tooling for over forty-five years. Beverly
was a Pink Lady at the Orange Regional
Medical Center. While living in
Blairsville she attended the Unity Church of the Mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Percy Lee Moore in 1980. She was a
loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Beverly was a member, Elder and recipient of
the Women of the Church Lifetime Award at Parklake Presbyterian
Church in
Orlando, FL.
Surviving
Mrs. Moore are one daughter, Beverly Moore and her partner Richard
Gibson of
Blairsville, two sons and three daughters-in-law, Jim and Xandy Moore
of Palm
Beach Gardens, FL, Dan Moore and his partner, Susan Stoddard of
Orlando, FL,
Debbie Snipes of Orlando, Debbie Moore of Ashville, NC, one sister,
Peggy Tryon
of Blairsville, five grandchildren, Michael Lee Smith, Jimmy Moore,
Chris
Moore, Adam Moore and Abby Moore Skinner, two great-grandchildren,
Austin Lee
Moore and Colton Alexander Moore, many other relatives and friends also
survive.
A
Celebration
of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
at the
Park Lake Presbyterian Church with Helen and Dan Debevoise officiating.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family

Georgia Mtn. Hospice in memory of Mrs. Moore.
