miss winifred olive elizabeth chaisson
Miss
Winifred Olive Elizabeth Chaisson, age 74, of Blairsville, GA passed
away
Saturday, July 31, 1999 at Murphy Medical Center following a sudden
illness.
She
was born on December 20, 1923 in Watham, MA, the daughter of the late
John
Chaisson and the late Edith Doucette Chaisson.
She was employed for over twenty-five years with the Waltham
Hospital in
Watham, Mass. She was of the Catholic
faith.
Survivors
include a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Dr. Julian Karasoff of
Blairsville; one nephew, H.L. Karasoff and his wife, Susan Karasoff of
Key
Large, FL; many other friends and relatives also survive.
Memorial
services will be announced at a later date by the family.

Mrs.
Barbara Anne Roberts Kelly, age 39, of Mulkey Gap Rd. Blairsville,
Georgia,
passed away on Thursday, July 22, 1999 in the Emory Hospital in Atlanta
following
an extended illness. Mrs. Kelly was born
on May 10, 1960, in Del Rio, Texas, the daughter of James Edward
Roberts and
Ernestine Reed Roberts. Before moving to
Blairsville, she had lived in Andrews, NC.
Surviving
Mrs. Kelly are her husband, Mitchell Kelly, of Andrews, NC; two
children,
Nicomas Tyane Roberts and Mollie Anne Kelly, both of Blairsville;
father, James
Edward Roberts of Weaverville, NC; three brothers, Johnny Lee Roberts,
of
Charlotte, NC, James Dewey Roberts, of Black Mountain, NC and Monty
Victor
Roberts, of Black Mountain, NC; three sisters, Addie Marie Brooks of
Hayesville, NC, Eleftheria (Honey) Roberts of Andrews, NC and Dorothea
(Dottie)
Lunsford of Blairsville many other friends and family also survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, July 22, 1999 at 4 p.m. form the chapel of
the
Mountain View Funeral Home with the rev. Jimmy Tanner and the Rev. Carl
Morrow
officiating. Special music was presented
by Mrs. Dolly Tchikirides. Serving as
pallbearers were Rufus Everett, Richard Crowell, Gene Sprayberry, Bobby
Foster,
Jonathan Dills and Greg Odom. Serving as
honorary escort pallbearers were, Vester Dills and Kevin Lunsford. Interment was in the Coosa Methodist Church
Cemetery.

Mr.
Frank Rogers, age 44, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away suddenly on
Thursday, July 29, 1999 in Union County.
Mr.
Rogers was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina, on Monday, August
1, 1954,
a son of Annie Lee Warren Rogers and the late Cletis Talmadge Rogers. He was a truck driver and had been a lifelong
resident of this area. Mr. Rogers was a
member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He
had been preceded in death by his father, Talmadge Rogers, in 1986, and
a
sister, Brenda Garrett, in 1988.
Surviving
are his mother, Annie Lee Warren Rogers, of Blairsville, his daughters,
April
and Mitzi, of Blairsville; sisters, Ruth Bohanon, Sarah Owenby, Martha
Plott,
and Mary Seabolt, all of Blairsville; brothers, Gene, Tommy, and Jimmy
Rogers;
many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends
also
survive.
Memorial
services were held Sunday, August 1, 1999 at 3 p.m. from New Union
Baptist
Church, with Rev. Harrison Bradley officiating.
If you wish, memorials may be made to a fund established at
Union County
Bank in Blairsville to benefit his daughters.

Mrs.
Sharon Brackett Hill, age 66, of Murfreesboro, NT, formerly of
Blairsville,
passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 1999 in the Baptist Hospital in
Nashville, TN,
following an extended illness.
Mrs.
Hill was born on June 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Burley
Brackett and
the late Maude Launa Rich of Union County.
She was a member of the Coffer County Crafts Association and a
member of
the Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna. TN.
Survivors
include her husband, George Hill of Beach Grove, TN; two sons and
daughter-in-laws, Gerald and sue Anne Hill of Houston, TX and Greg and
Lora
Hill of Murfreesboro, TN; one daughter, Gwyn McWhorter of Murfreesboro,
TN; two
sisters, Mavis Owenby of Dalton, GA and Glennis Gibson of Rockyface,
GA; a
sister-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Brackett of Blairsville, GA; five
grandchildren, James,
Tyler and Josiah Hill and Ashley and Autumn McWhorter; many other
friends and relatives
also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, July 29, 1999 from the Pleasant Grove
Baptist
Church with the Rev. Clyde Coleman officiating.
Special music was presented by Missie Kirkland.
Pallbearers were James Hill, Charles
Brackett, Jon Brown, Tom Antonucci, Merle Parham and Leslie Groves. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
