            Mrs. Billie Deaver Elliott, age 92, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Sunday evening, August 4, 2013 at her home in Blairsville.

            Mrs. Elliott was a native of Blairsville, and was born in the Ivy Log section of Union County. She was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church, where she had been a very active member. Billie was a graduate of Young Harris College in Young Harris. She met and married Dale Elliott in 1941; her beloved husband Dale passed away in 2011. They lived in Hopewell, VA, for many years before moving back in 1981. Mrs. Elliott had also been preceded in death by a daughter, Jimmie Elliott.

            Mrs. Elliott leaves behind her loving family to treasure her memory: son and daughter-in-law, James Dale and Natica Elliott, of Jasper, GA; granddaughters, Claire Elliott, and Joy Elliott, of Jasper; three cousins: Lester Deaver, Mary Twiggs, and Billie Young, all of Blairsville; special care givers: Patti McConahy, Nicole May, and April Orr-Prunier, all of Blairsville; many other relatives and friends also share in her legacy.

            Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from Ivy Log Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Karnes officiating.  The body was instate at the church starting at 12:30 p.m. Specially selected hymns were presented by Mrs. Martha Davenport.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Steve Hill, Tim Deaver, Fred Gray, Joe Gray, Elliott Hill, and James Bridges.  Mrs. Elliott was laid to rest next to her husband Dale in Ivy Log Cemetery in Blairsville.

            Any donations in memory of Billie may be made to Ivy Log Baptist Church Building Fund, or to Ivy Log Cemetery Fund.

            Visitation was held at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, on Monday evening, August 5, 2013, between the hours of 6 until 8 p.m.

dominick vincent myers

 

            Mr. Dominick Vincent Myers, age 20, of Nautical Point, Blairsville, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. He was born December 22, 1992 in Cleveland, OH. He had lived here since 2002 coming from Cleveland, OH. Dominick loved gaming, playing drums, concerts and spending time with friends. He never met a stranger, and loved people always making friends ever since he was a child. Dominick was preceded in death by his step-father, Brian Camp in 2008, nephew, Wade Huffman, Jr. in 2010, also 7 great grandparents. He was of the Catholic Faith.

            Survivors include his mother, Michelle Myers and her fiancé, Chuck Youngerman of Blairsville, GA, his father, Patrick Myers and his fiancée, Nancy Baisden of Parma, OH, sisters, Jaime and Rick Garrett LeMoore, CA, Jessi and Wade Huffman of Blairsville, GA, Izabella Camp of Blairsville, GA, brothers, Gabriel Camp of Blairsville, GA, Jobe Camp of Blairsville, GA, maternal grandparents, Carolyn and Dale Saus of Blairsville, GA, Andrew (Cindy Golden) Russo, Jr. of Middleburg Heights, OH, paternal grandparents, Richard and Maggie Myers of Cleveland, OH, nieces, Riley Garrett and Angel Huffman, nephew, Messiah Myers-Huffman.

            Funeral services were held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Mountian (sic) View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Bevers officiating. Music be by Cody Spiva, Nick Payne and Dale Saus. The family received friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request making memorial donations to Mountain View Funeral Home to help defray expenses.

hudson wade hunter

 

            Hudson Wade Hunter, infant son of Shawn and Rebekah Hunter of Blairsville passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Fannin Regional Hospital.  He was preceded in death by his great - grandparents, Everett and Bessie Hunter, J.D. and Ruby McDaniel, Joseph Dent, Minnie Pearl Lawson; and his uncle, Matt Hampton.

            He is survived by his parents, Shawn and Rebekah, grandparents: Paul and Charlotte Hunter of Blue Ridge, Bill and Junenell Hampton of Blairsville, Sherdian and Linda graves of Hanging Dog; aunt, Paula and Jim Sharp of Blue Ridge; uncles: Andrew Hunter of West Virginia, Isaiah and Amanda Hampton of Blue Ridge, Joseph Hampton of Blue Ridge, many cousins and other relatives.

            A private ceremony will be held at a later time.  The family would like to thank the staff at Fannin Regional for the care provided to Hudson.  Donations in memory of Hudson can be made to your local humane society.
