Mrs.
Corrine C. Zahn, age 38, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 7, 1995 at her home
following
an extended illness.
Mrs. Zahn was born January 11, 1937
in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of Clare Palmer and Orpha Hillman Palmer. She had been living in this area for the past
five months. Mrs. Zahn was of the
Episcopalian Faith.
Surviving
are four
children: son, Roy Howard, II of Conroe, Texas, daughter, Renee Teague
of
Blairsville, daughter, Shawn Burrell of Blairsville, and son, Mark Zahn
of
Houston, Texas twelve grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy
Griffith of
Sugarland, Texas.
Funeral services were held Thursday,
August 10, 1995 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with Rev.
Mark
Towery, Jr. officiating. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Fred Williams, Charles Burrell, Steve
Self,
Wilbur Reeves, Darren Self, and Wayne Thomas.
Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in
Blairsville.

Mr. Mrs.
Roscoe J. “Red” Brooks, died at home on Wednesday, August 9,
1995. He was the beloved husband of Ruth
Ruffner
Brooks; father of Sandy and Pat; brother of Rella Brooks Rogers, Fred
and
Robert Brooks. Four grandsons and one
great grandson also survive him.
Born in Harlan County, KY on May 31st,
1923, Red saw much of the world; first as a pilot in the Army Air Corps
during
World War II and the USAF fro 1950 until his retirement in 1969; then
during
two voyages around the world in a 35’ sailboat with his wife, Ruth.
Memorial services were held Friday,
August 11, 1995 at 4:30 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. His family has requested that no flowers be
sent. If desired, friends may make a
contribution in his name to the American Institute for Cancer Research;

Mrs.
Annie Louise Rogers, 76, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 1995 in Union
General
Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Towns
County, Georgia, on April 2, 1919, a daughter of the late Gather Wood
and
Lucille Burns Wood. She had lived most
of her life in this area and was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist
Church
in Hiawassee. Mrs. Rogers was the widow
of Mr. Andy Ralph “Rapp” Rogers, who died in 1974.
Surviving are four children:
daughter, Jerrie S. Cheek of Marietta, Georgia; son, James E. Smith, of
Hiawassee, Georgia; son, Anthony Rogers, of Atlanta, Georgia; and
daughter,
Andrea Dyer, of Blairsville; ten grandchildren, and four great
grandchildren;
and brother, Truett Wood, of Atlanta.
Graveside services were held Friday,
August 11, 1995 at 10:00 AM from Osborn Cemetery in Hiawassee with Rev.
B. A.
Buchanan officiating. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Van Burns, Tony Dyer, Jr., Jimmy
Smith, Jr.,
Paul Redish, Ray Rogers, and Tony Dyer, Sr.
Those wishing to make a memorial

Mr.
Lester M. Tritt, age 91, of 113000
Porter-Tritt Drive in Suches, Georgia, died Friday, August 11, 1995 at
his
residence following a sudden illness.
Mr. Tritt was a native and lifelong
resident of Union County. Mr. Tritt was
a retired carpenter and member of Mt. Pleasant #2 Baptist Church in
Suches,
Georgia.
Mr. Tritt is survived by two sons,
Ralph Tritt of Suches, Georgia; Paul Tritt of Cumming, Georgia; three
daughters, Mrs. Ruth Parker of Suches, Georgia; Mrs. Pauline Lovell,
Gainesville, Georgia; Mrs. Irene Porter of Suches, Georgia; 13
grandchildren,
24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and several
other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday,
August 13, 1995 at the Mount Pleasant #2 Baptist Church in Suches with
Rev.
Willis Garrett, Rev. Carlton Coker and Rev. Jackie Stowers officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. John
Everett, age 58, of Thimbleberry
Farm Road, Suches, Georgia, died Friday, August 11, 1995 at the Emory
University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia following an extended illness.
Mr. Everett was a native of Round
Mountain, Texas who had lived in Suches for the past twelve years. He was a retired carpenter, a U.S. Navy
Veteran and was of the Catholic Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou
Everett, of Suches; one son, John Michael Everett, of Buford, Georgia;
one
daughter, Tracy Phillips, of Gainesville, Georgia; one step-son, Donnie
Hakes,
of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; one step-daughter, Wendy Robinson,
Gainesville,
Georgia; two brothers, Donnie Everett, of West Virginia; Robert
Everett,
Richmond, Virginia; five sisters, Betty Sue Waddell, of Flora Home,
Florida;
Viola Stafford, of Mt. Morris, Michigan; Jean Schwab, Mt. Morris,
Michigan;
Violet Davis, Ft. Talson, Oklahoma; Beatrice Agostinelli, Beaver Falls,
Pennsylvania, one granddaughter, Jessica Phillips.
A large number of other relative also
survive.
Funeral services were held Monday,
August 14, 1995 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with
Father Ed
Danneker officiating.
