Mr.
Hoyle Vernon Rogers, age 77, of Dalton, GA, passed away Tuesday, August
3, 1999
at his home. Mr. Rogers was born in
Union County, November 11, 1921, the son of the late Bur and Elizabeth
Pope
Rogers. He was member of Sweet Gum
Baptist Church.
Survivors
include his wife of 57 years, Nora Garrett Rogers of the home; three
sons and
daughter in law, Ernest and Ann Rogers, of Dalton, GA; Don and Becky
Rogers of
Blairsville, GA; John and Diane Rogers, of Dalton, GA; three daughters
and son
in law, Nina and Junior Fleming of Murphy, NC; Brenda and George Mullis
of
Savannah, GA; and Wanda and Steve Ware of Murphy NC; six grandsons,
Tony
Rogers, Andy Ware, Adam Fleming, Donny Rogers, Brad Mullis and Keith
Ware; one
granddaughter, Vicki Rogers Davis, two great grandchildren, Courtney
Rogers and
Preston Rogers, two sisters, Vedith Richards of Gastonia, CN; and
Vivian
Nicholson of Epworth, GA, and two brothers, Raymond Rogers, of Dalton,
GA; Don
L. Rogers of Blue Ridge, GA.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, August 5, 1999 at 11 a.m. from Sweet Gum
Baptist
Church with Rev. Roy Clore and Rev Paul Ray Morgan officiating. Interment was in Sweet Gum Baptist Church
Cemetery.

Mr.
Paul B. Schultz, age 92, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday,
August 8,
1999 in Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee.
Mr.
Schultz was a native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and was a veteran of
the U.S.
Army, serving during WW II and achieving the rank of Captain, and later
a
Colonel, with the Army Corps of engineers.
He had been living in the Blairsville area since 1963.
Surviving
are his wife, Kathryn Schultz, of Laurens, SC; nieces, Laura Hoffman
Pierce, of
Caruthersville, MO; Barbara Hobbs Brune, and Carolyn Hobbs, both of
Cape
Girardeau MO; nephews, Don W. Hobbs and Joe P. Hobbs, both of Cape
Girardeau. Many friends also survive.
Graveside
services were held Wednesday, August 11, 1999 from Cape County memorial
park
Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with Dr. Paul Currie officiating. Veterans presented military graveside honors.
