Mr. Bobby
C. Henson, age 75, of Plott Farm Rd. Blairsville passed away on
Wednesday, Aug.
13, 2008 at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Henson was born on August 12, 1933 in
Union County, the son of the late Boyd Henson and the late Gertrude
Hemphill
Henson. He was a native and lifelong
resident of Union County and was a veteran of the US Army.
He was a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge
#114. Bobby’s favorite pastime was his
garden. He was preceded in death by a
step son, Billy carver and by seven siblings.
Bobby was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mr. Henson are his loving wife of forty-six years, Polly Jones Henson,
one son,
Chris Henson of Murphy, NC, step children, rev. Tommy and Vivian Jones
of
Blairsville, Barbara and Garner Butt of Blairsville, Donnia and Buddy
Legg of
Blairsville, one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and June Stephens of
Blairsville, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Tommy Jones officiating.
Special music was presented by Darron and Vanessa Nichols,
Leslie
Hughes, Melissa Collins and Cody Killian.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Buddy Legg, jack
Jones,
Billy Clemmons, Garner Butt, Larry Henson, Jason Henson, Cory Killian
and Guy
Bradley. Interment followed in Union
Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr.
Harold
C. Sullivan, age 86, of Lilburn, GA passed away on Monday, August 4,
2008. MR. Sullivan was born October 30,
1921 in
Blairsville, Union County, GA. He was a
member of Choestoe Baptist Church in Blairsville. He
is survived by his sisters: Marjorie
McCleary and Louise Kelley, both of Blairsville.
Funeral
services were held Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11 AM in the Chapel of
Flanigan
Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Ramey officiating.
Interment and graveside
service
followed at 2:30 PM at the Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery in
Blairsville, GA.

Mr. Fred
Thomas Whalen, age 71, of Bald Mtn. Rd., Blairsville, formerly of
Jonesboro,
GA, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 at his home following an
extended
illness. Mr. Whalen was born on June 2,
1937 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Otto Whalen and the late
Bertha Bainer
Whalen. Fred grew up in Columbus, OH. He was a many of many talents and was always
young at heart with a super sense of Humor.
Mr. Whalen was a member of the Nazarene Church.
Surviving
Mr. Whalen are his loving wife of twenty years, Carolyn “Jane” Simpson
Whalen
of Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Greg Felix of
Cincinnati,
OH, two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Kim Whalen of Columbus, OH,
Steve
and Sherri Whalen of Columbus, step children, David Price of Lagrange,
GA, Doug
and Martha Price of Jackson, GA, Daryl and Susan Price of Blairsville,
Dwayne
and Sylvia Price of Villa Rica, GA, one sister and brother-in-law,
Bonnie and
Ron Conley of Knoxville, TN, one brother, Tim Whalen of Columbus, OH,
eleven
grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with Dr. Phillip Meeks officiating.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Matthew and Danny
Felix,
Dustin, Kyle and Stephen Price, and Donald Rien. Interment
followed in the Meadow View
Cemetery. The family met with friends at
the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Mr.
Daniel
Edward Hall (Danny), age 43, of Blairsville, GA, and of Boynton beach, FL, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008
in the Union
General Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Hall was born on July 3, 1965 in Boynton Beach, FL, the son
of
Robert Hall and Shirley Shook Hall.
Danny had been a part time resident of Union County for the past
fourteen
years and attended Coosa United Methodist Church. Danny
was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Boynton Beach.
Surviving
Danny are his parents, Robert and Shirley Hal of Boynton Beach, FL, one
brother
and sister-in-law, Dale and Mary hall of Boynton beach,
one nephew, Joshua Hall, one niece, Madison Hall, numerous aunts,
uncles,
cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial
service will be held at a later date in Boynton Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests that memorials may be made to the Coosa United Methodist
Church of
Blairsville in memory of Mr. Hall.

Mr.
William
(better known as Bill) Rupert Wilson, age 69, of Memory Lane,
Blairsville,
passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2008 in the Union General Hospital
following an
extended illness. Mr. Wilson was born on
June 5, 1939 in Union County, the son of the late Abe Lincoln Wilson
and the
late Mary Eliza Reece Wilson. Bill
served in the US Coast Guard and was a member of American Legion Post
121, N.
GA, Honor Guard and a member of Union-Towns Home Builders Assoc. He was a native and lifelong resident of
Union County. He owned and operated
Wilson’s Heating and Air for many years.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving
Mr. Wilson are his loving wife of forty-one years, Gertrude Louise
Pitts Wilson
of Blairsville, one daughter, Laura Chapman of Decatur, GA, one son,
Michael
Wilson of Smyrna, GA, three sisters, Joyce Collins of Gainesville,
Martha
Deavers of Blairsville, Carol Nix of Blairsville, two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Elbert and Nancy Wilson of Wales, MI, Thomas and Alice
Wilson
of Johns Island, SC, one grandson Deven, several nieces, nephews, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.

services were held on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at 3 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bone officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were members of
American Legion Post 121 and members of the N. GA Honor Guard. Interment followed in the Shady Grove
Methodist Church Cemetery with the N. GA Honor Guard conducting
military
honors. The family met with friends at
the funeral home on Thursday from 2-3 p.m.

Mr.
Vernon
Ray King, age 78, of Kings Rd., Blairsville, passed away on Friday,
August 15,
2008 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. King was born on July 10, 1930 in Union
County, the son of the late Jass King and the late Minnie Dillinger
King. He was a native and lifelong
resident of
Union County. Vernon loved to coon hunt,
work in the garden and drive his tractor.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Flowers and
Artebell
Ingram and three brothers, Ed, Otis and Jess King.
Mr. King was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mr. King are one son, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, three
brothers
and two sisters-in-law, Ovell King of Blairsville, Troy and Clara Mae
King of
Blairsville, J.B. and Betty king of Blairsville, one sister, Ollie
Jones of
Gainesville, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends
also
survive.
Funeral
services were held on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 3 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Young and Rev. Guy Wayne Shook
officiating. Special music was presented
by Nancy Hughes,
Evan Hughes and Kelley Helton. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Keith Culberson, Ray Ingram,
Larry
King, Cord King, Gerald Patterson and Charles Truelove.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Robert
Bridges and Bill King. Interment
followed in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
