Mrs.
Martha
Bivins, age 84, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 11,
1997 in
Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.
Mrs.
Bivins was born April 1, 1913, a daughter of the late
Van B. Duckworth and Nancy Reid Duckworth.
A native of Union County, she was the widow of the late Reuben
Bivins. She was a lifelong resident of
Union County, and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter,
Frances Stevens, in 1979.
Surviving
are daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Wayne Abercrombie of
Blairsville;
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Clinton Plott, of Chatsworth, GA.;
brother, Ralph Duckworth of Blairsville; three grandchildren: Ricky and
Holly
Abercrombie, both of Blairsville and Shannon Anderson of Monroe, GA.;
great
granddaughter, Amber Anderson, also of Monroe; several nieces and
nephews also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, August 13, 1979 at 2 p.m. from the chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Willis Garrett officiating.
Special music was presented by Louise DeLong,
Susie Phillips, and Sarah Kelley. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Emanuel Legg, Darin Bridges,
Darrell
Bridges, Homer Powell, Wayne Roberts, and Robert Smith.
Interment was in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of arrangements.

Mr.
Marion
Sullivan, age 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August
12, 1997
in Blairsville.
Mr.
Sullivan was born in Union County, Georgia, on October
14, 1920, the son of the
late Richard Barney Sullivan and
Florida Hood Sullivan. He was a World
War II U.S. Army Veteran. For many
years, Mr. Sullivan drove a school bus.
He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member and deacon
of Union
Baptist Church.
Surviving
are his wife, Genelle Sullivan, of Blairsville; seven
children, Wanda Hooper and Janie Rowan, both of Blairsville, Carole
Turner of
Stone Mountain, GA., Audrey Beavers of Morganton, GA., Gayle Wall of
Gainesville, GA., Earl Sullivan and Vicki Callihan, both of
Blairsville; three
sisters, grace Rogers of Cornelia, GA., Dorothy Spiva of Blairsville,
and
Maxine Stephens of Aiken, S.C.; four brothers, Oscar Sullivan of Eaton,
CO.,
Clyde Sullivan of Clermont, GA., Hoke Sullivan of N. Augusta, S.C. and
Grady
Sullivan of Marietta, GA.; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and
several
nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, August 13, 1997 at 2 p.m. from Union
Baptist
Church with Rev. Benny Nix officiating. Special
music was presented by The Trackrock Quartet.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Darren Rowan,
David Hill,
Brent Hooper, Tripp Wall, Brian Hooper, Tom Colwell, Randy beavers, and
Carson
Ray. Interment was in Union Baptist
Church Cemetery with North Georgia Honor Guard presenting Military
Honors. Cochran Funeral Home of
Blairsville in charge
of arrangements.
