mrs. alice plott hood

Mrs. Alice Plott Hood, age 84, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.

Mrs. Hood was born on Thursday, April 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Smith Plott and Nora Smith Plott.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church.  Preceding her in death was a daughter, Sue Beth Hood; and ten of Mrs. Hood’s brothers and sisters.

Survivors include son, W.H. Hood, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Carole Hood; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Hilda Hood; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Bill Beaver, all of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Troy Phillips, of Murphy, NC; two sisters; Nan Adams and Ruth Cantrell, both of Blairsville, and brother, Worth Plott, also of Blairsville; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive, along with many friends and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, 2004, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Kenny Beavers and Rev. Ray Potts officiating.  Special music was presented by Mrs. June Grounds.  These gentlemen served as pallbearers: Billy Beavers, Scott Beavers, James Beavers, Rondal Phillips, Kenny Hood, Chuck Hood, Todd Hood, and Damon Hood.  Burial was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
