Mr. Rufus
Warren age 67 of Douglasville, GA, and previously of Blairsville passed
away on
Monday, August 24, 2009 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Mr. Warren was born in Fannin County, Georgia
on January 4, 1942 the son of the late Arvil Warren and Ethel Grizzle
Warren. He was retired from the city of
Marietta and then worked with the Marietta Housing Authority.
Mr. Rufus
Warren is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mrs.
Corliss Walker Warren of Douglasville, GA; 3 sons and daughters-in-law,
Mr.
Carl Warren of Douglasville, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Marcus (Tamara) Warren
of
Cartersville, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy (Julie) Warren of
Douglasville, GA;
2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Eugene Warren of Blairsville, GA,
Mr. &
Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) Warren of Blairsville, GA, Mrs. Ruby Warren of
Blairsville,
GA, and Mrs. Lee Ruth Warren of Blairsville, GA; 2 sisters &
brothers-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Burliss (Sue) Pickelsimer of
Chatsworth, GA,
Mr. & Mrs. Marshall (Faye) Pangle of Dalton, GA, 8 grandchildren,
Levi
Warren, Timothy Warren, Micah Warren, Christian Warren, Morgan Warren,
Elijah
Warren, Preston Warren and Kaylee Warren; many nieces and nephews, and
many
other beloved family members and friends.
Mr.
Warren was preceded in death by his brothers Earl
Warren, Junior Warren and Stancil Warren.
Pallbearers
include: Michael Warren, Anthony Warren, Terry
Warren, Philip Warren, Kenneth Pendergrass. Honorary pallbearer
William
L. Douglas.
Funeral
services for Mr. Rufus Warren were held Friday, August 28, 2009 at 2 PM
from
the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with the Reverend Eubert Legg
officiating.
The family
received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 PM until 9 PM
and on
Thursday from 9 AM until 9 PM and on Friday from 9 AM until the service
began
at 2 PM.

Mrs.
Martyne Ruth Jokela, age 82 of Faith Acres Rd., Blairsville passed away
on
Wednesday, Aug. 26,2009 at her home
following an
extended illness. Mrs. Jokela was born
on July 2, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late James Patrick
Dwyer
and the late Martyne Ruth Owen Dwyer.
Martyne was a Charter Member, Board of Director, Treasurer, Preservationist of the year 2006 of the Union
County
Historical Society. She was also a
Member and Adjutant of the Union County Chapter of Disabled American
Veteran
Auxiliary, a member of the North GA Honor Guard, Board of Directors and
treasurer of the Blairsville/Union County Chamber of Commerce. She also was a
American Red Cross volunteer. Martyne
was a loving sister, aunt and was a friend to many.
Martyne was of the non-denominational faith.
Surviving Martyne
are one sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jim Allen of Tallahassee,
FL, five
brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Ann Dwyer of Chicago, IL, Bob
and Mary
Dwyer of Blairsville, Thomas and Betty Dwyer of Blairsville, Kevin and
Elaine
Dwyer of Carrolton, GA, Frank and Janice McMonigle of Villa Rica, GA,
nephews
and spouses, Sean and Kay Dwyer, Patrick Allen, Robert Jr. and Kim
Dwyer,
Michael and Kim Dwyer, Kevin Dwyer Jr., Darren and Deanna McMonigle,
Keith and
Ruth McMonigle, Donald and Debra Dwyer, nieces and spouses, Kathy and
George
Storm, LuAnn and Edwin Seibert, Kathy and Dave Denhart, Sharon Dwyer,
Patty and
Gerald Cook, Leslie Allen, Nancy Harrison, April and Ralph Hughes, Lisa
Dwyer,
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the
Mountain View
Chapel with the Rev. Wofford Kelley officiating. Special
music was presented by Sarah
Kelley. The following gentlemen served
as pallbearers, Sean Dwyer, Michael Dwyer, Robert Dwyer Jr., Ralph
Hughes,
Gerald Cook and Justin Davenport. Interment
followed in the Holly Hill Cemetery. The
family met with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8
p.m.
