Lydia P.
Thomas, 84, 110 E. Ruby Ave., died Aug. 25, at Gaston memorial hospital.
She was a native of Union County, GA., daughter of the late
George and Julia Beaver Prince, wife of the late Joseph Marion Thomas;
homemaker.
Survivors: Sons, Bud Thomas, Shelby, Arvil M. Thomas, Clover,
SC., Marvin Thomas, Sharon, SC; daughters: Ruth Hawkins, Clover, Mary
Dean, Crestview, FL; brothers: Charles and Junior Prince, Dalton, GA;
sisters: Betty Jean Tanner, Murphy, Deltha Rogers, Dalton, Tisha Woody,
Morganton, GA; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandchild.
Funeral: 2 PM, Sunday, McLean & Son Funeral Home, Rev. Clyde
Goudlock.
Burial: Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Filbert, SC.

Donald
Davenport, 62, of Blairsville, passed away Thursday, August 31, 19895
in Northeast Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Davenport was a native and life long resident of Union
County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and had
worked with the U.S. Forestry Service for twenty nine years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Blairsville.
He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Patsy Patton Davenport, of the home; son and
daughter-in-law, Donald Craig and Marsha Underwood Davenport,
Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Randolph and Sammie Davenport,
Grayson, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Kathryn Davenport,
Blairsville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Leota and Ed King,
Blairsville; brother, Dale Davenport, Blairsville; Grandson, Benjamin
Austin Davenport, Blairsville; several nieces, nephews, and friends
also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 2, 1995 at 11:00
AM from the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. B.A. Buchanan
officiating. The following gentlemen were
selected to serve as pallbearers: Bill Drake, Bill Decker, Bud Nichols,
Jim Allison, and J.B. King. The following
gentlemen were selected to serve as Honorary Escort to the family:
Harlan Underwood, Troy Phillips, Charles Partin, Jim McAfee, Bill
Foster, and Jesse King. All past and
present employees of the U.S. Forestry Service, Brasstown District were
asked to serve as Honorary Escort. Interment
in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr.
Harold E. Hood, 52, of Richard Russell Scenic Hwy., Blairsville, passed
away Wednesday, August 30, 1995.
Mr. Hood was a native of Union County and a lifelong resident. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and
Young Cane Masonic Lodge, F & AM.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Fortenberry Hood, of the
home; his parents, Byron and Alma Hood, Blairsville; son, Harold Brian
Hood, Blairsville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 2, 1995 at 4:00
PM from Union Baptist Church with Rev. Benny Nix and Rev. Jerry Helton
officiating. Members of the Masonic Lodge
served as pallbearers, with interment in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation at the Funeral Home were both Thursday and Friday
evening.

Jason M.
Pascarella, age 20, of Sevierville, TN, formerly of Blairsville, passed
away Friday, September 1, 1995, due to injuries received in an
automobile accident.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Jackie and Al
Montreuil; father, Joe Pascarella; brother, Ray Herron; all of
Sevierville, TN; grandparents, John and Viva Lane, Blairsville, and
paternal grandmother, Rosella Pascarella, Rochester, NY.
Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 OM from the Chapel of
the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Jerry Helton
officiating. Interment in the Union Memory
Gardens.
