mrs. shirley yvonne davis

Mrs. Shirley Yvonne Davis, age 67 of Pleasant Hill Rd. Blairsville passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2004 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  Mrs. Davis was born on February 15, 1937 in Effingham County, IL, the daughter of the late Everett Pagel and the late Gatha Reeves Pagel.  She had worked as a nurse for several years.  She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Darsham in 1964.  Mrs. Davis was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving Mrs. Davis are one daughter and son-in-law, sandy and Jeff Johnson of Bethlehem, GA, two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Patty Pagel of Blairsville, Troy and Beverly Davis of Dade City, FL, step children, Joyce Buckles of Mansfield, IL, Janice Stewart of Mahomet, IL, Jackie Butler and Jimmy Darsham of White Heath, IL, five brothers, Butch Pagel of Blairsville, Herman and Kenny Pagel of Campayne, IL, Jerry Pagel of Mansfield, IL, Delbert Pagel of Atwood, IL, four sisters, Wanda R. West of Blairsville, Lois Geons of Effingham, IL, Dorothy Cole of Mechanicsville, IL, and Barbara Ward of Blairsville, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, fourteen step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Estes officiating.  Special music was presented by Leslie Hughes and Melissa Collins.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Mike and Robbie Montgomery, Dereck Broome, Brian Rexroad, Jeff Johnson and Kevin Rexroad.  Interment followed in the House of Prayer Cemetery.
