Rev.
Dallas Howell Taylor age 78 of Jones Creek Rd., Blairsville passed away
on
Monday, August 30, 2010 at his home following an extended illness. Rev. Taylor was born on January 2, 1932 in
Talking Rock, GA, the son of the late Cisero Taylor and the late Flora
Burgess
Taylor. Up until the time of his death
Dallas was the assistant pastor of Loving Grace Friendship Church and
had
previously been the assistant pastor of Jones Creek Church of God. Dallas had been a member of Station #2
Volunteer Fire Department for over twenty years. He
was a loving husband, father, grandfather
and great grandfather. He was preceded
in death by a sister, Opal Pierce and two brothers, John and David
Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a member of Jones
Creek Church
of God.
Surviving
Rev. Taylor are his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Cleo Jones Taylor
of
Blairsville, two daughters and one son-in-law, Rita and Rev. Phillip
Jackson of
Blairsville, Bea Taylor Aaron of Blairsville, one son and
daughter-in-law, Rex
and Lucille Taylor of Blairsville, three grandchildren, Tracy
Holbrooks, Wendy
Burrell, Blake Taylor, Zachary Gassett and Sybil Glover, six great
grandchildren, Kayla, Josh, Hannah, Donovan, Kaylee and Ethan, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services
will be held on Thursday Sept.2, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain View
Chapel
with the Rev. Eddie Ramey, Rev. Terrell Jones and Rev. Phillip Jackson
officiating. Special music presented by Randolph, Brittany and Casey
Jones,
Herman and Lavita Cheek. The following
gentleman served as pallbearers, Benny, Denny, Eland and Shannon Jones,
Roy
Pierce and Jay Wills. Serving as
honorary pallbearers were, Darren Jones, Jimmy Wheeler, (Lil) Jimmy
Wheeler,
Zack Gassett, Blake Taylor and Randolph Jones. Interment
followed in the Liberty Hill Church
Cemetery. The family will met with friends
at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 5-9 p.m.

Mrs. Nova
Lee Nix, age 81, of Gene Nix Rd., Blairsville
passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 1010 at her home
following an
extended illness. Mrs. Nix was born on
Nov. 10, 1928 in Hayesville, NC. She was
a lifelong resident of Union County.
Nova Lee enjoyed canning and gardening.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her special
caring and loving parents, Ed and Nelar Alexander, a son, Larry Nix,
and a
grandson, Dee Gilbert. Mrs. Nix was a
member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Nix are her loving
husband of sixty six years, Eugene Nix of Blairsville, three daughters
and
sons-in-law, Hattie and Arthur Jackson of Young Harris, Linda and
Charles
Duckworth of Blairsville, Tammy and Steve Rhoten of Blairsville, two
sons and
one daughter-in-law, Perry Nix of Blairsville, Terry and Helen Nix of
Blairsville, four grandchildren, Holly Gilbert, Michelle Dover, Sabrina
Lunsford and Chris Nix, two great grandchildren, Casey Dover and Logan
Nix, many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services were held on Friday,
Sept. 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Owltown Church of God Cemetery with
the Rev.
Danny White officiating. In lieu of
flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to
Regency
Hospice of Hiawassee in memory of Mrs. Nix.
The family met with friends following the services.

Mrs.
Deloris "Dee" Irene Proctor age 48 of Watts Creek Rd., Blairsville
passed
away on Wednesday Sept. 1, 2010 in the Union General Hospital following
a
battle with cancer. Dee was born on
April 8, 1962 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Norma Davis McMurphy and
the late
Raymond McMurphy. Dee was a very loving
and caring Registered Nursing at Union General Hospital for the past
ten years.
She was a foster parent to 44 children. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt
and was a friend to many. Dee was a
member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving
Dee are her loving husband of nineteen
years, Kevin Proctor of Blairsville, mother, Norma J. McMurphy of Mims,
FL, one
daughter, Jennifer Jennings of Blairsville, one son, Jacob D. Proctor
of
Blairsville, six sisters and brother-in-laws, Donna and Ken Eagle of
Titusville, FL, Debra and Leland Greek of Bushnell, FL, Doreen and Gary
Belflower of Cocoa, FL, Diane and Edwin Perez of Melbourne, FL, Darlene
and
Vaughn Foust Sr., of Silver Springs, FL, Deanna and Tony Young of Mims,
FL,
five brothers and sister-in-laws, Daniel and Heather McMurphy of Mims,
FL,
Duane and Patricia McMurphy of Titusville, FL, Dennis and Tara McMurphy
of
Springfield, MO, Donald and Cynthia McMurphy of Mims, FL, Dean and
Tracy
McMurphy of Shephardsville, KY, several nieces, nephews, many other
relatives
and friends also survive.

services were held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the
Mountain View
Chapel with the Rev. Richard Helms officiating.
Interment followed in the Oak Lawn memorial Gardens Cemetery in
Titusville, FL. In lieu of flowers if you

Church in
Blairsville in memory of Dee Proctor.

Mr. James
(better known as Jimmy) Lester
Montique age 52 of Sawmill Rd., Blairsville went to Heaven to go
fishing with
his mom, dad, sister, nephew and father-in-law on Monday August 30,
2010 at his
home following an extended illness. Mr.
Montique
was born on July 9, 1958 in West Palm Beach, FL, the son of the late
George W.
Montique and the late Evelyn Bowling Montique.
James was a loving father and brother and was a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents,
George and Evelyn Montique, sister, Janice Martin, nephew, Timmothy
(sic) Brian
Bell and his father-in-law, Larry Robert Heritage.
James attended the Day of Grace Baptist
church.
Surviving James are two children,
Nichole A. Montique and James Montique both of Live Oak, FL, his only
love and
the mother of his children, Kim S. Montique of Live Oak, FL, two
sisters and
one brother-in-law, Carol and Wayne Younger of Lake City, FL, Joyce
Champlin of
Blairsville, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert and Anita
Montique of
W. Palm Beach, FL, (Butch) George Montique of Hollywood, FL, very
special
friends, caregivers and sister-in-law, Terri Heritage and Ervin Key,
Gail
Gifford, Katie Gelles and Linda Mears, several nieces, nephews, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday,
Sept. 11, 2010 at 12 p.m. from the residence of Joyce Champlin, 83
Stone Drive,
Blairsville. In lieu of flowers if you

American Cancer Society in memory of Jimmy.

Mrs. Bess
A. Rubinstein, age 93 of Blairsville,
GA, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010
at Union
County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Rubinstein was born in Bronx,
NY to the late Morris and Clara (Wachs) Newman.
She was of the Jewish faith, and was a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Rubinstein was preceded in death by her
husband, Sholom Rubinstein.
Survivors include: daughter &
son-in-law, Jill & Douglas Slavin of Atlanta, GA, daughter &
son-in-law, Zoe & Bruce King of
Blairsville, GA, son, Michael Rubinstein of San Francisco, CA, sister,
