Mr.
Clyde Daniel, age 71, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday,
August 28,
1999 in Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Mr.
Daniel was born in Union County, Georgia, on Wednesday, August 15,
1928, a son
of the late Eli Daniel and Laura Davenport Daniel.
He was a farmer and had lived most
of his life in this area. Mr. Daniel was a
member of Young Cane Masonic
Lodge #597, F&AM, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving
are his wife, Ruby Stepp Daniel, of the home; sons, John and Jeff
Daniel, both
of Blairsville; daughters, carol Carter, of Dallas, Georgia and Susan
Porter,
of Waco, Georgia; sisters: Mae Brown of Braselton, Georgia, Dorothy
Byers, of
Blairsville; Bertha Chastain, of Tyrone, Georgia; Cliffie Dean, of
Norcross,
Georgia; and Pauline Parker, of Snellville, Georgia; brothers, Talmadge
Daniel
of Phoneix, Arizona and Wayne Daniel of Douglasville, GA; eight
grandchildren,
two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive along
with
many friends and other relatives.
Funeral
services were held Monday, August 30, 1999 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Potts and Rev. Brent Chatham
officiating. Special music was presented
by The Faith
Singers. Member of the Masonic Lodge
presented Masonic rites. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Harold King, Bill Grey, Tim
Cristofaro,
Richard Griggs, Floyd Elliott, Bobby Overstreet, and Charles Hughes. Serving as honorary escort to the family was
James Richards. Interment was in Ivy LOG
Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr.
Andy Chapman, age 66, of Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of Miami,
Florida,
passed away Tuesday, September 7, 1999.
Mr.
Chapman was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, on Saturday, October 21,
1933, a
son of the late Lindsey Chapman and Anne Lou Crawford Chapman. He was a veteran of the U.S. marines, and
attained the rank of Captain. Mr.
Chapman lived most of his life in Miami, serving as a teacher and coach
in
Miami schools for many years. Mr.
Chapman was a very active member of new Hope Baptist Church serving in
the
church as Sunday School teacher and also as
a Trustee.
Surviving
are his wife, Joan, of Blairsville; sons and daughter in law, Gene and
David
Bell, and Terri Cobb, all of Miami; brother, James Chapman, of Ocala,
and
sister, Anette Mims, of Miami; three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, September 9, 1999 at 3 p.m. from the
Chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with rev. Bill Gowder officiating. Special music was presented by Mrs. Tammy
Blasingame, accompanied by Mrs. Lita Gowder.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: David Gowder,
Todd
Greene, Tommy Greene, Wayne Copeland, Jim Williams, and Larry Turner. Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church
Cemetery in Blairsville. If you wish, in
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Fellowship Baptist
Church
Building Fund.

Ms.
Sarah Elizabeth Baker, age 94, of the Young Harris Highway,
Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 1999 at her home
following an
extended illness. Born on July 9, 1905
in Suches, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Marshall Baker and
the
late Sarah Ann Woody baker, she was a lifelong resident of Union County. Ms. Baker retired after forty-four years of
service with the Brighton-Burlinton Cotton Mill of Shannon, Georgia. She was a member of The House of Prayer of
Fairmount, Georgia. Ms. Baker was the
granddaughter of the late Dr. Tobies Woody and the late Luraney
Lunsford Woody,
and also the late Jessie M. Baker and the late Elizabeth Gillem Baker.
Surviving
Ms. Baker are one daughter and son in law, Nina and George Seymour of
Blairsville, Georgia; one son David Wayne Baker, of Blairsville, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, September 10, 1999 from the Liberty Hill
United
Methodist Church in Fannin County with the Rev. John Wynn and the Rev.
Charlie
Edwards officiating. Special music was
presented by Ken and Elaine Young and also Dr. Gordon held. Beverly Cameron played the organ.
The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers, Veral Colwell, Clayton Hancocks, Emory Voyles, James H.
Baker,
Hubert Baker, Jerry Baker and Roy Baker.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr.
Danny Gaglione, age 61, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday,
September
6, 1999.
Mr.
Gaglione was born in Snyder, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, October 12,
1937, a son
of the late Anthony Gaglione and Helen Kline Gaglione.
Mr. Gaglione had been living in Blairsville
since 1996, coming here from New Port Richey, Florida.
He was of the Methodist Faith and was a 32nd
Degree mason and Shriner of the Egypt Temple.
Surviving
are his wife, Barbara Gonthier Gaglione, of Blairsville; four
daughters: Robyn
Berlingame, of Clearwater, Florida, Lori Schmidt of Blairsville, Stacy
and
Danielle Victoria Gaglione both of Holiday, Florida; three brothers:
Robert
Gaglione of Hummelstown, PA, William Gaglione, of Winterhaven, FL, and
John
Gaglione, of New Port Richey, FL; six grandchildren and a host of
friends also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, September 8, 1999 at 8 p.m. from the
chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Tully Griggs officiating.

Ms.
Wanda Crabtree Meeks, age 89, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away on
Monday,
September 6, 1999 in the Union General Hospital following an extended
illness. Born on July 14, 1910 in
Kenova, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Dewitt Crabtree and the
late
Inez Webb Crabtree, she had lived in Union County since 1993 moving
here from
Lakeland, FL. Ms. Meeks was a retired
Real estate Agent and also a member of the First Baptist Church of
Blairsville. She was preceded in death by
her husband,
Troy Lee Meeks in 1990.
Surviving
Ms. Meeks are one son and daughter in law, Bruce Lee and Carolyn Meeks
of
Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Marinez and W.C. Rideout of
Gaithersburg, Maryland; four grandchildren, Troy Meeks, Marifae Jones,
Charla
Smith, Lee Rideout, two great grandchildren Harrison Meeks and Parker
Meeks,
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, September 13, 1999 in the chapel of The
Gentry-Morrison
Funeral Home in Lakeland, FL. Interment
followed in the Oak Hill Burial Park Cemetery in Lakeland, FL.
