Mrs.
Paulette Celeste Harper, age 46, of Marie Lane, Blairsville, passed
away on
Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Harper was born on July 28, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY, the
daughter of
Dominick Conte and Ann Distefano Conte.
She had owned and operated Smokey
Mtn. Pizza in
Blairsville. She was very active in her
church. Mrs. Harper was a member of the
House of Prayer Church.
Surviving
Mrs. Harper are her loving children, one son, Stephen Paul Harper of
Blairsville, one daughter, Stephanie Harper of Blairsville, father and
mother,
Dominick and Ann Conte of Highland beach, FL, one brother and
sister-in-law,
Joseph and Lynn Conte of Winter Park, FL, one sister, Stephanie
ImBriale of
Boca Raton, FL, many other relatives, friends and all of her church
family at
the HOUSE of Prayer also survive.
A memorial
service was held on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 following worship services
at the
House of Prayer Church with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday Sept. 17,
2008 at 10 a.m. from the Babione Funeral Home Chapel in Boca Raton, FL. A visitation will be held there on Tuesday
evening from 204 and 7-9 p.m. Interment
will follow in the Boca Raton Mausoleum.

Mrs.
Pamela Sue Tate Anderson, age 44, of Shoe Factory Rd., Blairsville,
passed away
on Friday, Sept. 12 2008 at her home following an extended illness. Mr. Anderson was born on Feb. 19, 1964 in
Union County, the daughter of Jewell Tate, Sr. and Christine Potts Tate. She was a native and lifelong resident of
Union County. She was a loving wife,
mother, daughter and sister. She loved
all of her family and also her four dogs, Trixie, Pepper, Bug and
George. Mrs. Anderson
as of the
Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Anderson are her loving husband of nine years, Stephen Anderson of
Blairsville, one son, Timothy S. Tate of Blairsville, mother, Christine
Tate of
Blairsville, father, Jewell Tate, Sr. of TX, one sister, Shelia Garland
of
Athens, GA, one brother, Jewell Tate, Jr. of Athens, father and
mother-in-law,
Leroy and Sarah Anderson of Blairsville, sisters-in-law, Penny Warren
of
Winder, Pam Guthrie of Blairsville several nieces, nephews, many other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at 4 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Rhoten, Rev. Marvin Brown and
Doug Loyd
officiating. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers, Lamar Dyer, Aaron Groves, Kevin Payne, Nathaniel
Stepp,
Johnny Thomas, Cory Thomas, John Guthrie and Doug Loyd.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bo
Stover, Glenn Loyd and Andy Loyd. Interment
will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Ford
King, age 79, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Union General
Hospital
in Blairsville. Ford was born Monday,
December 17, 1928 in Union County, GA, to the late Marcus Clayburn King
and the
late Addie Kate Dyer King. He was a
member of Old Liberty Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a
sister,
Northa Brown and brother, Rouse King.
Survivors
include: son, Charles King of Blairsville; daughter, Mary Jo King of
Marietta,
GA; son & daughter-in-law, Arlen and Barbara King of Blairsville;
son, Lee
King of Blairsville; sisters, Irene Davis, Lucille Collins and Hazel
Dyer;
brothers, Cecil King and Sam King, all of Blairsville; 9 grandchildren,
10 great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, September 12, 2008 at 2 PM from the Cochran
Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Young officiating.
Interment followed in Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were the following
gentlemen: Toby Collins, Freddie Collins, Jason Collins, Aubrey Dyer,
Harold
Collins and Herman Cheek. Serving as
honorary pallbearers were the following gentlemen: Kevin Cheek and Mike
King.
The family
received friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Thursday, September 11.

Lucille
M. Cain, 93, Peavine, GA, died Friday, September 5, 2008, at her
residence. She was a native of Union
County, GA, and moved to Walker County in the 1940’s.
She was a daughter of the late Richard and
Elizabeth Prater England. Mrs. Cain was
preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Leon Cain, five
sisters
and two brothers. She was a member of
the Peavine Baptist Church where she had taught Beginners Sunday School
for
more than 35 years and had served in other capacities including V.B.S.,
Sunbeams, W.M.U. and loved Community
Missions. Mrs. Cain had worked in the
Chenille Textile
Ind. And had worked at The Peerless Woolen Mill in Rossville where she
met her
beloved husband.
Survivors are
her daughter, Sonja Cain, Peavine; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Peavine Baptist Church with
Rev.
David Pruett, Dr. Stephen Anthony, and Rev. Rick Suddard officiating. Interment followed in the Peavine Cemetery.
Active pallbearers
were Stanley Black, Roy Davis, Ronnie Haslerig, Bruce Potts, Bobby
Pruett, and
Keith Trundle. Honorary Pallbearers were
the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Mr.
Stanley
Earl Jackson (Big Daddy) age 52 of Flea Market Hwy Jasper, GA, formerly
of
Blairsville and Dalton passed away on Tuesday Sept. 9, 2008 in the
Piedmont
Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.
Mr. Jackson was born on Feb. 14, 1956 in
Andrews, NC., the son of Jane Elizabeth
Harden Jackson
and the late Earl Landon Jackson.
Stanley was well known as an automobile salesman and had many
other
types of businesses throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by a son Matthew Jackson in 1980 and
his
father, Earl in 1986. Mr. Jackson was a
member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mr. Jackson are his mother, Jane Guy of Cartersville, SC, one daughter
and
son-in-law, Rhonda and Jesus Barrientos of Dalton, one son and
daughter-in-law,
Jason and Heather Jackson of Rocky Face, GA., three sisters and two
brother in
laws, Yvonne (Cat) Jackson of Ellijay, Kathy and Andy Ramirez of AL.,
Christine
and Bobby Caselina of TX., five grandchildren, Hanna, Haley, Holly,
Maison
(Monkey) and Adrianna, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at 12:00 pm from the
funeral
home chapel with the Rev. Robert Jarvis officiating.

Mr.

Brannon Harper, age 52 of Marie Lane, Blairsville passed away on
Thursday,
Sept. 11, 2008 at his home. Mr. Harper
was born on June 17, 1956 in Hollywood, FL the son of John Harper and

Denkel Harper. He had owned and operated
Smokey Mtn. pizza. He was a loving
father and son. He enjoyed sports and
fishing. At the time of his death he was
employed by Wimpey Poultry Company. Mr.
Harper was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Mr. Harper are his loving children, one son Stephen Paul Harper of
Blairsville,
one daughter, Stephanie Harper of Blairsville, mother and step father,
June and
Robert Paine of Young Harris, father, John Harper of Jacksonville, FL.,
two
sisters, Karen Harper of Jacksonville, FL., Elizabeth Harper of Ft.
Lauderdale,
FL., several aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives and friends
also survive.

Mrs.
Mary L. Bragg, age 82, of Ray Lewis Rd., Blairsville, passed away on
Friday,
Sept. 12, 2008 at her home following a brief illness.
Mrs. Bragg was born on Sept. 7, 1926 in
Savannah, GA, the daughter of the late Shouble and Maude Bragg. She had made her home in Blairsville since
1994, moving here from Charleston, SC.
Mary loved to read. Mrs. Bragg
was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Bragg are three sisters and one brother-in-law, Henrietta and
Alvin
Ledford of Hayesville, NC, Ann Jones of Hayesville, Dorothy Lewis and
Ruth
Daniel both of Blairsville, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stokley
and Nola
Martin, Rev. R.L. and Katherine martin all of Blairsville, numerous
nieces,
nephews, rand nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends also
survive.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.L. martin and Rev. Loyce Waters
officiating. Mrs..
Bragg’s nephews served as pallbearers.
Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family met with friends at the funeral

Mr.
Herbert G. Dowis, age 77, of Mtn. Valley lane, Blairsville, passed away
peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 following an extended
illness. Mr. Dowis was born on Feb. 1,
1931 in Fulton
County, GA, the son of the late William Herbert Dowis and the late Emma
Grey
Moorehead Dowis. He was retired from the
DuPont Chemical Company as a chemist. He
was a member of the American Legion, the D.A.V., The
Rolls Royce Club. He loved traveling and
had traveled all over the world. Herbert
was a loving, caring and kind hearted man.
Mr. Dowis was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
MR. Dowis are one daughter, Susan lane Lewis of AZ, one sister, Joyce
Lambert
of CA, five grandchildren, Will, Ray, Dillon and Serena, many other
relatives
and friends also survive.
No services
are planned at this time. In lieu of

a
favorite charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Dowis.
