Mrs.
Belvia Gooch Wooters, age 85, of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of union
County,
Georgia passed away Saturday, September 12, 1998 in Baltimore.
Mrs.
Wooters was born Thursday, November 14, 1912, in Union County, Georgia a daughter of the late William Andrew Gooch and
Bel Gilreath
Gooch. She was of the Baptist faith, and
had lived in Baltimore for the past 50 years.
Surviving
are her brother, Milton Gooch, of Woodstock, Ga, and her sister, Nell
Patterson, of Hendersonville, NC; many nieces and nephews and a host of
friends
and other relatives also survive.
Graveside
services were held Wednesday, September 16, 1998
at 2 p.m. from Mt. Pleasant BAPTIST Church, #2 in Suches, with Rev. Ray
Potts officiating. The following gentlemen
served as
pallbearers: Glen Gooch, Joe Patterson, John Marr, and Gary Marr.

Mr.
Charles William Adams, age 63, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Friday,
September 18, 1998 in Murrayville, GA.
Mr. Adams was born Thursday, April 11, 1935, a son of the late
Wesley
Alex Adams and Nannie Plott Adams. He
was of Baptist Faith. Mr. Adams had been
preceded in death by his father, Wesley Alex Adams; a sister, Margie
Belle
Adams and a brother, Clarence R. Adams.
Survivors
include his mother, Nannie Plott Adams, of Blairsville; a sister, Clara
Adams
Hedrick, of Robbinsville, NC; two nieces, Gail Ann Adams Cantrell, of
Murrayville; and Charlotte Diane Adams Donaldson, of Tennessee; nephew,
Adam
Shane Hedrick, of Robbinsville; and a great nephew, Rocky Holbrooks of
Blairsville; a host of friends and other relatives also survive.
Memorial
services were held Monday, September 21, 1998 at
6:30 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with
Rev.
Thomas Freeman Cantrell and Rev. Ray Potts officiating.
Special music was presented by Rev. Blair
Stewart.
In lieu
of flowers, the family suggests memorial
contributions be made to Towns/Union Humane Society.

Little
Chelsey Hope Brown, 5 month old infant, of Toby Brown and Alicia Fair,
of
Blairsville, passed away Sunday, September 13, 1998 in Union County.
Survivors
include her parents Alicia Fair and Toby Brown, Darrian Fair, of
Blairsville;
maternal grandparents, Nancy Fair of Hiawassee and Gaines Fair of
Atlanta;
paternal grandparents, Doris Jones, of Blairsville, and Bobby Joe
Patterson, of
Hayesville, NC; maternal great grandmother, Mina Miller, of Hiawassee;
paternal
great grandparents, D.L. Ledford and Bennie Lee Ledford, both of Young
Harris;
a host of friends and other relatives also survive.

Mr. Loyal C. Sprayberry, age 75, of Blairsville,
Georgia passed away at his home Friday, September 18, 1998.
Mr. Sprayberry was born in Clay
County, Alabama, September 22, 1922, a son of the late Rev. William L.
and Ora
Newell Sprayberry. Mr. Sprayberry was
one of the heroes of WW 11, having been captured and escaped, and
having been
wounded in action twice for which he was awarded two purple
heart medals. He was a retired
corporate auditor for the State of Alabama.
He moved to Blairsville in 1978 from Gadsden, Al.
He was a member and inactive Deacon of
Antioch Baptist Church, and active in local community activities.
Survivors
include his wife, Joyce J. Sprayberry of the home; son and
daughter-in-law, L.
Gene and Louise M. Sprayberry of Blairsville, GA, brothers, Lofton
Sprayberry
of Troy, Al, Vernon Sprayberry of Delta, Al, and Billy L. Sprayberry of
Lineville, Al.; sisters, Irene Daughtery and Visie Ingram of Delta,
AL., Audean
Miller of Oxford, Al., Betty Lou Mitchell and Nettie Sue Hudson of
Lineville,
Al. Eunice Newell of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; grandsons, Wade L. Sprayberry
of
Blairsville, GA and Kelly G. Sprayberry of Marietta, GA; great
grandson, Nathan
Wade Sprayberry of Blairsville. He was
preceded in death by sisters, Eva Key, Drucilla Clark and Clara Martin;
brothers, Wiley and Ellis Sprayberry; sons, William Thomas and Alan
Wade
Sprayberry. many
other relatives and friends also survive.

services were held Sunday, September 20, 1998 at 10
a.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Smith and
Rev.
Harold Sangster officiating. Music was
provided by Ted Noelle and Donna Frames.
Serving
as pallbearers, Andy Anderson,
Andy Chapman, Wead Lewis, Cecil Lance, Bill Drake and James Westberry. Honorary
Pallbearers, David Zeger, Dr. James Locklar, James Bridges, Darin
Bridges,
Darrell bridges and Danny Bridges.
Internment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardnes in Anniston, Al.

Mr.
Steven Brent Grizzle, age 24, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Thursday,
September 10, 1998 in Union County, Georgia, from injuries which he
sustained
in an automobile accident.
Mr. Grizzle
was born on Tuesday, August 6, 1974, in Union County, Georgia. He was a lifelong resident of Union County,
and was a member of ivy Log Baptist Church.
Brent was a graduate of the class of 1992, Union County High
School, and
was a member of the Blairsville Jaycees.
He was employed as a foreman with a utility construction
business. Brent was preceded in death by
his
step-grandfather, Fred Fortenberry.
Surviving
are his parents, J.M. and Doris Grizzle, of Blairsville; his sister and
brother-in-law, Shannon and Mike Rice, of South Carolina; paternal
grandparents, Arch and Dorothy Grizzle; maternal grandmother, Martha
Fortenberry; and maternal grandfather, J.P. Payne; all of Blairsville;
many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, September 13, 1998 at 2
p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev.
Jerry
Karnes and Rev. Paul Carder officiating.
Special music was presented by The Ivy Log Quartet.
The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Larry Bergen, JOEL Payne, Glendon Gooch, Aaron Dills,
Darin
Bridges, and Darrell bridges. Interment
was in Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery.
