           Margie Best Allendorf, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 8, 2012 after suffering complications from a Bone Marrow Transplant.

           Mrs. Allendorf was born in Macon, GA to the late Raymond (Buck) and Marjorie Best. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald (Jerry) Vickers. Margie was retired from C&S National Bank as a Vice President and was an active member in the community in Blairsville, where she was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary at Union General Hospital until her illness no longer allowed it. She has lived most of her life in Macon, GA and currently lived in Blairsville, GA. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. The loves in her life were her family, square dancing, making quilts and giving to others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Margie was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville where she was also a member of The Seekers Sunday School Class.

           She is survived by her loving husband of nineteen years, Albert H. Allendorf of Blairsville, three children, Vicki (Bryan) Nelson of Lizella, GA, Angela (Mark) Vickers of Goochland, VA, Chris (Kristin) Vickers of Loma, CO, grandchildren, Calen and Sage Vickers of Loma, CO and sister-in-law, Nadine Powell of St. Simons Island, GA.

             Memorial services will be held September 27, 2012 at 6 at the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Crowe officiating. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Stovall Hope Foundation, c/o The Hospitality Lodge, P.O. Box 907, Dacula, GA 30019

david kukula

 

            Mr. David Kukula, age 57, of Blairsville and Grove City, FL passed away September 20, 2012 at Union General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born August 27, 1955 in Cleveland, OH. David was a Realtor. He loved Classic Cars, and was a real people person and was loved by all who knew him. David was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Kukula. He was of the Catholic Faith.

            Survivors include his parents, John and Mary Jane Dille Kukula of Middleburg Hts., OH, brother, John Kukula of Westlake, OH, and niece, Jordan Kukula.

            Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers you can make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.

william daniel "dan"creamer

 

           William Daniel “Dan” Creamer, age 61,  of Nottley Woods Road, Blairsville passed away September 16, 2012 in Union General Hospital. He was born November 10, 1950 in Macon, GA to the late William F. and Betty Hall Creamer. He had lived in this area for thirteen years coming from Cocoa, FL. Dan was a US Army Vietnam Veteran, and was  a Tail Gunner with the 101st Airborne Division and received the High Marksman Award. Though he had no children of his own, he was loved by all kids. He was an excellent welder, and a good craftsman. Dan was a really kind and generous man. Dan was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Creamer in 2001. He was of the Christian faith.

            Survivors include sisters, Lisa Lilly-Legg and husband Emanuel Legg of Blairsville, Patricia and Russell Schinck of Blue Ridge, sister-in-law, Cheryl Creamer of Morganton, nieces and nephews, Brian Lilly, Rabekah Anderson, Rachel Lilly, Geoffrey Creamer, Timothy and Jonathan Ronsisvalle, many aunts uncles and cousins.

            A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Mountain View Funeral Home to help defray cremation cost.

elizabeth mann read

 

           Mrs. Elizabeth Mann Read, age 87, Blairsville passed away September 17, 2012 following an extended illness. She was born November 29, 1924 in Greenville, MS to the late Nehama Reckless and Ella Mae Johnson Mann. She had lived in this area since 1998, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville and their OASIS Club.  Mrs. Read was also a volunteer with the Union General Hospital Auxiliary for over ten years. She was an avid Bridge enthusiast. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Michael Harrison Read, granddaughter, Dana M. Dyer, brother, Robert L. Mann, sisters, Essie White, Ovella Hester and Opal Graves.

            Survivors include children, Thomas and Susan Read of Fayetteville, GA, Ellen and Charles Kennedy of Blairsville, GA, brother, Donald and Sue Mann of Tyler, TX, sister, Juanita Holloway of Matthews, NC, grandchildren, Stephanie Leigh Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Lisa Rivers, Joshua R. Kennedy, Mary Beth Read, Chris Read, three great grandchildren, Logan C. Dyer, Michael Lane Kennedy and Addison Grace Kennedy.

            Memorial services were held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Union County with Rev. Ben Lewis officiating. Music was by Michael and Josh Kennedy and Keith DeFoor. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that  contributions be made in her memory to the Union General Hospital Auxiliary. The family received friends at the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

mary ann young

 

              Mrs. Mary Ann Young, age 74, of Chestnut Oak Lane, Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2012 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Young was born on January 8, 1938 in Savannah, GA., the daughter of the late Elbert Terry Hash and the late Ella Louise Patrick Hash. Mary Ann loved to cook and to take care of people in need. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the best mother that God could have ever given to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Young in 2004, a sister, Frances Hembrie in 2010 and a brother, Curtis Hash in 1999. Mrs. Young was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

               Surviving Mrs. Young are two daughters and one son-in-law, Cherri and Abim (Adam) Young of Jonesboro, GA, Kim Young of Blairsville, two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Becky Young of Jackson, GA, Troy and Mandy Young of Forest Park, GA, one sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Stephen Gootee of Media, PA, one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Alice Hash of Buford, GA, eleven grandchildren, Spring, John, Amanda, Kali, Ryan, Laura, Colby, Preston, Jason, Curtis and Cory, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

               A Celebration of Mary Ann’s life was held on Monday Sept. 24, 2012 at 3 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Leon McDonald officiating. Special music presented for the service was Mary Ann’s favorite hymns. Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may made to the American Diabetes Foundation in memory of Mrs. Young. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the services.

evelyn faulkner beal

 

               Mrs. Evelyn Faulkner Beal, age 86, passed away on September 20, 2012 at her home in Blairsville. She was actively involved with the Chamber of Commerce, a life Master Bridge player, a huge advocate for animal protection, an exceptional seamstress, an extraordinary cook and a warm, tender, loving LADY. She will be missed by all.

               Mom, may your spirit float to the arms of God, may every star shine with your smile, we’ll hold you in our hearts and see you in a while.

              She leaves behind a loving husband of 63 years, David W. Beal of Blairsville, 3 happily married children, David and Elizabeth Beal of Hiawassee, Linda and Charles Strickland of Stuart, FL and Lisa and Craig Robelen of Boca Raton, FL, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

               A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests a donation to your local humane society.
