Mr.
Watson T. Wimpey, age 83, of Hiawassee,
GA passed away Sunday, September 17, 1995 at his home.
Mr. Wimpey was born in Union County,
GA on November 24, 1911, a son of the late
James L.
and Thanie A. Cook Wimpey. He had lived
in Rockmart, GA until he retired from the textile industry and had
lived in
Hiawassee for 15 years. He was a member
of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hiawassee.
Mr. Wimpey was also a Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s Witness Minister.
Survivors include his wife Willie
Wimpey of the home; daughter, Joyce Smith of Denver, CO; sons, Randall
Wimpey
of Roundhill, KY, David Wimpey of Hot Springs, AK, Robert Wimpey of
Gretna, LA
and Ron Wimpey of Ten Mile, TN; sisters, Dessie Ledford and Emma Dyer,
both of
Blairsville, GA; brothers, John Wimpey Phd of Hapeville, GA and Pat
Wimpey of
Macon, GA; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, several
nieces and
nephews also survive.
Memorials services were held Tuesday,
September 19, 1995 at 3 p.m. from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses
with Bro.

Mrs.
Thelma E. Patterson, age 90, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday September 19, 1995 in Union
County
Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Patterson was born in Goshen,
Illinois, on January 4, 1905, a daughter of Howard Simmons and Ida Mae
West
Simmons. She was a homemaker and had
lived in this area for most of her life.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Two children preceded her in death, Murel
Murray and Preston Patterson.
Surviving are daughters, Geraldine
Zecher and Rozella Moore, both of Middletown, Ohio; sons, Roy
Patterson, Dale
Patterson, Benny Patterson, and Richard Patterson, all of Blairsville;
daughter, Shirley McClure of East Point, GA; son, Evin Patterson of
Blairsville; sister, Ann Faris, and brother, Jack Simmons, both of
Middletown,
Ohio; twenty four grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren also
survive.
Funeral services were held Friday,
September 22, 1995 at 2 p.m. from Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev.
Clyde
Coleman and Rev. Vernon Davenport officiating.
Music for the services was presented by The Faith Singers. Grandsons served as pallbearers and honorary
escort, with interment in the church cemetery.

Mr.
Clifton Coker, age 81, of Blairsville,
Georgia passed away Saturday, September 23, 1995 at his home.
Mr. Coker was the son of the late
William and Sarah Cook Coker. He was
born in Union County, Georgia on July 29, 1914.
He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of
Trackrock
Baptist Church. Mr. Coker had been a
deacon for forty-five years.
Surviving
are his wife, Mrs. Dimple Collins Coker, of the home; six daughters,
Mary
Souther of Blairsville, Shirley Winn of Flowery Branch, GA, Jeannette
Hughes of
Blairsville, Linda Sosebee of Blackhawk, Colorado, and Debbie Free of
Blairsville and Lee Gooch of Clarkesville, GA; five sons, Harold Coker
of
Andrews, NC, Eldon Coker of Blairsville, Roger Coker of Cleveland, GA,
Anthony
Coker of Blairsville, and Stanley Coker of Chatsworth, GA; sister,
Irene Brown
of Blairsville, sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren,
nieces and
nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday,
September 25, 1995 at 2 p.m. from Trackrock Baptist Church with Rev.
Larry
Chastain and Rev. Harley Hunter officiating.
Music was presented by the Trackrock Choir.
The following grandsons served as
pallbearers: Mike Souther, Alan Gooch, Marty Hughes Jason Sosebee,
Kevin Gooch,
and Tracy Coker. The following gentlemen
served as honorary escort to the family: Paul Revis, Gaylon Cook, Tim
Coker,
Adam Coker, and Brian Free. Interment
was in Trackrock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jim
Kimbrell, age 74 of Blairsville, GA,
passed away Friday, September 22, 1995.
Mr. Kimbrell was a native of
Tennessee, and was born April 4, 1921 a son of the late Zack Kimbrell
and
Martha Garrett Kimbrell. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Kimbrell
was a member of Youngstown Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Millie
Henderson Kimbrell if the home; daughter, Peggy Anderson of Hayesville,
NC;
son, Ira Kimbrell of Calhoun, GA; son, Vernon Kimbrell of Phoenix, AZ,
daughter, Susie Hyatt of Young Harris, GA; and daughter, Kathy Cothren,
of
Murphy, NC; sisters, Wilcie Hughes of Brasstown, NC and Helen White of
Anderson, SC; special friend, Lorene Henson of Blairsville; nine
grandchildren,
and five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday,
September 24, 1995 at 2 p.m. from Youngstown Baptist church (sic) with
Rev.
Leon Henderson and rev. Claude Davenport officiating.
Special music was presented by Willaree
Davenport, Lewis Smith, and Ned Wilcoxin.
Deacons served as pallbearers and preachers served as honorary
escort to
the family. Interment was in Many Forks
Baptist Church Cemetery.
