mr. lenwell jewell bivins, sr.
Mr.
Lenwell Jewell Bivins, Sr., age 76, of Blairsville, Georgia and of Avon
Park,
Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 1998 in Union County.
Mr. Bivins
was born in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky, on February 7, 1922. He was the son of
the late William Allen Bivins and Lizzie Holman Bivins.
Mr. Bivins was a retired accountant, and was
a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr.
Bivins had been employed as the Auditor for the City of Louisville,
Kentucky;
as Budget Officer, for the City of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and Finance
Director, of Volusia county, Florida. At the time of his retirement, he was
Auditing Supervisor for the State of Florida Board of education. Mr. Bivins was a member of several
organizations, including Kentucky Colonel, American Legion, Lions Club
of
Florida and Georgia, and was also a past-president of Union County
Lions Club.
Survivors
include his wife, Reeda Rose Von Allmen Bivins, of Blairsville and of
Avon Park, Florida; son, and
daughter-in-law,
Lenwell J. Bivins, Jr., and Marjorie V. Bivins, both of Blairsville;
sisters:
Thelma Young, of Greenville, KY and Marlene Wood, of Marion, KY;
granddaughter,
Andrea Lynnae Ollila, of Jackson, MI; a host of friends and other
relatives
also survive.
Visitation
at the funeral home was held on Thursday evening,
September 24, 1998, for family and friends.

mrs. audrey kay williams o’brien
Mrs.
Audrey Kay Williams O’Brien, age 33, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed
away
Wednesday, September 23, 1998 in Union General Hospital, in
Blairsville,
following an extended illness Mrs.
O’Brien was born in Fulton County, Georgia, on Thursday, June 3, 1965,
a
daughter of the late Douglas Oliver Williams and Karen Cevil Thomas
Williams. She was a homemaker and had
lived in Blairsville only two months, coming here from Douglasville, GA.
Survivors
include her husband, Russell O’Brien, of Blairsville; mother, Karen
Williams,
of Douglasville, GA; children, Ashley and Cody O’Brien, of Blairsville;
sister,
Sheryl Williams, of Atlanta, and brother, Johnny Williams, of Marietta.

mrs. hazel marie hutson dillinger
Mrs.
Hazel Marie Hutson Dillinger, age 74, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed
away
Wednesday, September 23, 1998, in Union County.
Mrs. Dillinger was born in Union County, on Sunday, March 16,
1924, a
daughter of the late W.D. Hutson and Iva Cora Teague Hutson. She was a lifelong resident of Union County,
and for man years, worked in the school lunchroom.
Mrs. Dillinger was a member of Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church.
Survivors
include her husband, Albert Dillinger, of Blairsville; son and daughter
in law,
Dallas Reed and Renay Dillinger, of Sparta, TN; son, Anthony Lanier
Dillinger;
daughter and son in law, Barbara Ann Dillinger Towe and Nulion Towe;
son and
daughter in law, Charles Bruce and Arlene Dillinger, all of
Blairsville;
daughter and son in law, Brenda Dillinger West and Ronald West, of
Ellijay; son
and daughter in law, Junior and Debbie Dillinger, of Morganton, GA; and
daughter Buffy Dillinger, of Blairsville; brother, Author Hutson, of
Ballground, GA; grandsons and wives, Chris and Lori Bergan, Alvin and
Carol
Towe; grandsons: Shane Towe, Derrick Dillinger, Jamey Mull, Daniel
Hyatt, and
Aaron Hyatt; granddaughters, Jennifer Dillinger, Shannon Dillinger,
Tara
Dillinger, Erin Hyatt; granddaughters and husbands: Sabrina and Kenny
Tripp and
Candy and Chris Busbee; 8 great grandchildren also survive, along with
a host
of friends and other relatives. many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, September 25, 1998 at 2
p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev.
Horace
Potts, Rev. Ronnie Abernathy, and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music was presented by Patricia
Carver and the Pleasant Grove Church Choir.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: James and mark
Burrell,
Steve Carver, Ervin Plott, J.E. and Larry Hutson. The
following gentlemen served as honorary
escort to the family: J.W. Payne, Harold Payne, Barry Dean, Terry
Rogers, Ray
Rogers, Ray Potts.
Internment was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
