betty june brown hubbard

 

Mrs. Betty June Brown Hubbard, age 75, of Berry Rd., Blairsville, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Hubbard was born on December 20, 1931 in Hendersonville, GA, the daughter of the late Robert and Flowice Phillips Burnette.  She graduated from Byron High School and moved to Blairsville in 1970.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society.  She and her husband owned and operated Browns Auction for over thirty years.  She loved people and always had a cheerful attitude.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hubbard in 2005 and her first husband, Terrell Brown in 1992., also one sister, Willie Belle Byrd, four brothers, Wilton, Jerry, Billy and Robert Burnette, Jr.  Mrs. Hubbard was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Hubbard are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brunson Brown of Blairsville, Buck and Melissa Brown of Blairsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Beth and Paige Miller of Ellijay, Linda Carter of Georgia; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Leila Burnette Asbell of Macon, Patsy and Morris McDaniel of Warner Robins, GA; two grandchildren, Christie Johnson and Kylie Carter; one great-grandchild, Eliza Johnson; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Corner Stone Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating.  Special music was presented by Tony and Lacie Ford.  Interment followed in the Union memory Gardens Cemetery.  The family met with friends at Corner Stone Baptist Church Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m.

james meyer huffstutter

 

Mr. James Meyer Huffstutter, age 72, of Colonsay Trace, Blairsville passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.  Mr. Huffstutter was born on November 18, 1934 in Sharon, PA, the son of the late John Huffstutter and the late Katharine Meyer Huffstutter.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1980 with over twenty-two years of service and also retired from the Manatee County, FL Sheriffs Department as a Deputy in 2001 with over ten years of service.  He was Past master of Bradenton Masonic Lodge, a member of High County Harmonizers and also a member of the Fraternal Order of police.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Huffstutter in 2000.  Mr. Huffstutter was a member of St. Clare’s Church.

Surviving Mr. Huffstutter are his loving wife, Carolyn Watson Huffstutter of Blairsville; one son and daughter-in-law, John and JoAnne Huffstutter of Spokan, WA; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Peter Almazan of Lakeland, FL; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret and Russell Brown of Australia, Betty Larson of Erie, PA; two grandchildren, Bryce and Elise Almazan; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held on Friday, September 28, 2007 from St. Clare’s Church with Rev. Susan Johnson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Mr. Huffstutter’s memory.

michael drude

 

Michael Drude, age 53, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007.  Michael was born Friday, October 16, 1953 in Germany to Lisa Busch Drude of Blairsville and the late Heinz Drude.  He had lived in Florida before moving to Blairsville in 1994 and was a horse trainer.

suzanne e. hall

 

Mrs. Suzanne E. Hall, age 76, of Blairsville, GA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 26, 2007.  Mrs. Hall was born Thursday, March 12, 1931 in Canada to the late John Lehoczky and the late Elizabeth Lehoczky.  She had retired and moved from Miami, Fl to Blairsville, 22 years ago.  She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Union County Chamber of Commerce and various other volunteer organizations.  She was preceded in death by first husband, Charles Farmer, Sr., second husband, James C. Hall and a brother, John Lehoczky.

Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Susan and Jim McKesson of Signal Mountain, TN; daughter &son-in-law, Elizabeth and Jose Rodriquez of Miami, FL; daughter & son-in-law, Sally and Jack Totherow of Blairsville, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Ann Marie and Larry Jackson of Gainesville, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Chuck and Francis Farmer of Windermere, FL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rodriquez, John Rodriquez, Dawn Bardin, Brian Farmer, Britney Totherow and James Totherow; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lehoczky and her three children and spouses; sister-in-law, Jane O’Hara and her five children and spouses; Lorrie farmer and her 3 children and spouses.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. George Cline officiating.  Music was provided by Tammy Blassingame.  Interment was in Union memory Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers were: Jack Totherow, Chuck Farmer, Brian Farmer, Jim McKesson, Jose Rodriquez, John Rodriquez and Larry Jackson.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Gideons or American Bible Society.
