mrs. mary jane johnston

 

Mrs. Mary Jane Johnston age 85 of Booger Hollow Rd. Blairsville passed away on Sunday Sept. 25, 2005 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Johnston was born on July 7, 1920 in St. Petersburg, FL, the daughter of the late Okey Russell Albright and the late Ada Viola Hoover Albright.  Before her retirement she was employed with Rite-Aid Pharmacy of Blairsville.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam N. Johnston in 1983, and also a brother, Russell George Albright.  She had made her home in Blairsville since 1980.  Mrs. Johnston was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church of Blairsville.

Surviving Mrs. Johnston are two daughters, Virginia Woodside Boemanns of Blairsville, Coletta Woodside Markey of St. Petersburg, FL, one step son Skip Johnston of Sugar Tree, TN, Fiancé, Harold Kieley of Blairsville, Ten Grandchildren, sixteen Great Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A private memorial service was held for friends and family.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to your favorite charity in Mrs. Johnston’s memory.

mrs. sarah mona matthewson

 

Mrs. Sarah Mona Matthewson, age 78, of Cherokee Forest, Blairsville, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.  Mrs. Matthewson was born on March 8, 1927 in Bethlem, PA, the daughter of the late Idris John Watkins and the late Sarah Elizabeth Randall Watkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Wesley Matthewson.  She had made her home in Blairsville for the past twenty-four years moving here from Miramar, FL.  Mrs. Matthewson was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving Mrs. Matthewson are two daughters and one son-in-law, Sally Gregory of Blairsville, Julie and Doug Green of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Mary Matthewson of Cleveland, GA, one brother, David Watkins of Florida, one sister, Peggy Clark of Ruidoso Down, NM, five grandchildren, Christian, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Hannah and Jacob, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 1005 at 4 p.m. from the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Brent Chatham officiating.  Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Blairsville Mountain Shelter Humane Society in Mrs. Matthewson’s memory.

mr. david clyde heath

 

Mr.  David Clyde Heath age 65 of John Abernathy Rd., Blairsville formerly of Atlanta and Key West, FL passed away on Friday Sept. 30, 2005 at his home following a brief illness.  Mr. Heath was born on June 6, 1940 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Gordon and Elizabeth Heath.  Mr. Heath was an Art Dealer by trade owning his own Gallery in Atlanta from 1964 until the present.  Mr. Heath was of the Presbyterian Faith.

Surviving Mr. Heath are two sons and one daughter in law, Ellis and Lizabeth Heath of Morgantown, WV, Clifton Curry Heath of San Diego, CA, one brother and sister in law, Adair and Carol Heath of Australia, one Grandson Franklin Baisley Heath of Morgantown.  Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday October 4, 2005 at 4 p.m. from Moca-GA.  In Lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assn. or to Blairsville Mountain Shelter Humane Society in Mr. Heath’s memory.

mr. james edward dutrow

 

Mr.  James Edward Dutrow, age 44, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2005 in Atlanta.

Mr. Dutrow was born Sunday, January 22, 1961 in Chatham County, GA to Joann Stape Dutrow of Huber Heights, OH and the late John Dutrow.  He was a retired Air Force Veteran having served in Desert Storm and his hobbies were woodcarving, hunting and fishing.  He was preceded in death by nephew, Paul Leslie Gilstrap III.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Gael Dutrow of Blairsville, GA; sons, Jarrod Dutrow and Garrett Dutrow both of Blairsville, GA; brother, Jeff Dutrow of Columbus, OH; sisters, Kim Gilstrap of Medway, OH and Michelle Bauman of Kettering, OH, several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home, Blairsville with military honors conducted by Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to you local Hospice Organization.
