Little
Hayden Steven
Ray, age 5 months, of 23 Dallas Hill Rd., Blairsville, went to be with
Jesus on
Monday Sept. 27, 2010 from the Union General Hospital following a brief
illness. Hayden was born on May 1st,
2010 in Hall County, GA, the son of Christopher Steven Ray and Sasha
Nicole Davidson.
Surviving
Hayden are
his loving parents, Christopher and Sasha (Davidson) Ray of
Blairsville, a
brother and a sister, Chloe and Colton Ray of Blairsville, four
grandparents,
Rick Hughes, Mary Walker, Mark Davidson and Valeria Field of
Blairsville, four
great-grandparents, Paul and Mary Field of Blairsville, Iva Jean
Winkler of
Blairsville and Wendall Ray of Calhoun. Several
aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral
services
were held on Friday, October 1st, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain View
Chapel
with Rev. Tommy Jones, Rev. Wayne Hughes and Rev. Randy Hughes
officiating. The following gentlemen
will serve as pallbearers, Brad Gowder, Nathan Long, Trevor Dyer and
Greg
Kutchens. The family met with friends
from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday at Mountain View Funeral Home.

Mrs.
Stacey Michelle
Corn, age 38, of Ham’s Old Rd., Blairsville, passed away on Wednesday,
Sept. 29,
2010 at her home following a brief illness. Mrs.
Corn was born on Jan. 17, 1972 in
Hiawassee, GA, the daughter of the late Dennis Walker Garrett and the
late
Debra Sharon Bussell Garrett. She was
preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Debra Garret and also her
step
mother, Barbara Garrett who passed away on Sept. 10, 2010.
She was a lifelong resident of Union County. Stacey
enjoyed working with flowers and being
on Ebay. She was a loving mother, sister
and aunt. Mrs. Corn was of the Baptist
faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Corn
are her husband, Curtis Corn of Blairsville, a special friend, Tim
Kelly of
Blairsville, daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Bradley Glass of
Blairsville,
son, Joshua Corn of Blairsville, daughter, Kaitlyn Kelly of
Blairsville, four
brothers and one sister-in-law, Ben Brown of Hiawassee, Tony Brown of
Chickasha, OK, Timmy and Michelle Duckworth of Blairsville, Dale
Duckworth of
Winder, GA, niece, Destiny Patterson of Blairsville, nephew, Ayden
Bradley of
Hiawassee, uncle, Buster Bussell of Blairsville, many other relatives
and friends
also survive.
A
memorial service was
held on Sunday October 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel
with the
Rev. Brian Mason officiating. In lieu of
flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to
the
American Lung Association in Mrs. Corn’s memory. The
family met with friends at the funeral
home on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. and also following the services.

Mrs.
Birdelle Tritt
Lunsford, age 93, of Suches, Georgia, passed away Monday evening,
September 20,
2010 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, Georgia.
Mrs.
Lunsford was
born in Union County, Georgia, on August 29, 1917, a daughter of the
late
William Barton Tritt and Pearl Davis Tritt. She
was a homemaker and lifelong resident of
the area, and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches. Mrs. Lunsford had been preceded in death by
her husband, Willie G. Lunsford, in 1992; siblings: Melvin Tritt, Clyde
Tritt,
Ruby Pierce, Clarence Tritt, and Trevia Nell Barton.
Surviving
family
members include son and daughter-in-law, Jim Donald and Jane Lunsford,
of
Gainesville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Bud
Braddock, of
Suches, Georgia; siblings: Grace Robertson, Rev. Donald Tritt, Ella Mae
Beech,
and Jean Edge and her husband, Walter; sister-in-law, Viola Shell
Tritt. Three grandchildren and their
spouses: Tracy
and Tom Braun, Paige and Evelyn Braddock, and Gueth and Sherri
Braddock; five
great grandchildren: Zachary Robert Owens and Rebecca Jane Owens;
Claire
Tinkler, Sarah Tinkler, and Chandler Tinkler.
Funeral
services were
held Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Lebanon Baptist
Church,
with Rev. Clarence Drummond officiating. The
body was instate at the church starting at
1:30 p.m. on the day of the service. Brenda
Brookshire led the congregation in
singing church hymns. The following
gentlemen served pallbearers: Ken Carlisle, Tim Carlisle, Charlie
Dobson, Gueth
Braddock, Don Pruitt, and Jeff Edge. Burial
was in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation
began on Wednesday evening, after 6
p.m., with the family especially meeting with friends from 6 until 8
p.m. on
Wednesday evening.

Grant
Roberson of Blairsville,
Georgia passed away September 19, 2010 at the age of 90 in Union
General
Hospital.
He was a Cherokee County, North
Carolina native. He was preceeded (sic)
in death by his parents, Sherman Roberson and Ester Caroll Roberson,
and a son,
Homer Roberson of Cleveland, Tennessee, brothers, Bill and Pete
Roberson;
sisters, Francis Ash and Lucille Oliver.
He was a retired security guard at
Arbor Acres in Blairsville. Grant
especially
liked to watch Atlanta Braves baseball games and spending time with
family and
friends. Grant was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Grant are Ernestine
Robertson and a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Elizabeth Roberson
of
Blairsville, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service was
held September 28 at Old Fashion Baptist church, Martins Creek, North
Carolina.
