mrs. eleanor s. watford

 

Mrs. Eleanor S. Watford, age 80, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of St. Cloud, FL, passed away Sunday, September 26, 1999 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Watford was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on Friday, August 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Eli Franklin Scott and Mildred Agnes King Scott.  She was the widow of the late Wayne Watford, who passed away in June of this year.  She was of the Baptist Faith.  Mrs. Watford had been living in the Blairsville area for the past 3 years.

Surviving are a son, William Scott Watford, of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Susan L. Morse, of Blairsville; brothers, Leslie and Herbert Scott, both of Pittsburg; sisters: Andrea Hodge, of lake Park, FL.; 6 grandchildren: Shannon Lowry, of Blairsville; Michelle Watford, of West Palm Beach, FL; Steven Carnes, of Blairsville; Danielle Watford, of west Palm Beach; FL.; Danny and Jennifer Morse, both of Blairsville; and 3 great granddaughters: Jessica Byers, Peyton Carnes, and Courtney Byers, all of Blairsville, also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Jerry Karnes officiating.  Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Steven Carnes, Danny Morse, Gary Morse, and Brian Harris.  Interment was in Union memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville.

mr. james france boeckel

 

Mr. James France Boeckel, Sr., age 76, of My Creek Road, Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 1999 in the Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.  Mr. Boeckel had made his home in Blairsville after moving here from Clearwater, FL.  He was born on July 1, 1923 the son of the late Joseph F. Boeckel and the late Mayme Hess Boeckel.  Mr. Boeckel was retired from Sears and roebuck Company, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the local VFW Chapter.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Taylor Boeckel of Blairsville; one son and daughter in law, James and Ester Boeckel of Blairsville; one daughter, Judith Woods and son in law, Timothy Hershner of Oldmar, FL; four grandchildren, Laurel Wilson of palm Harbor, FL; Holly Clark, of Las Vegas, NV; Joseph Burke of Minorsville, PA; and James Burke of Dallastown, PA; five great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association in James Memory. officiating.

mrs. martha lea weis

 

Mrs. Martha Lea Weis, age 78, of White Oak, LN., of Blairsville, Georgia passed away September 23, 1999 at the Union General Hospital, following a long term illness.

Survivors include her husband, Vincent Donald Weis; two daughters, Elizabeth Froman of Sarasota, FL., and Roberta Lea Seiler also of Sarasota, FL; step daughter, Diane Maulsby, and a step son, Dean Weis; son in laws include: Neil Froman and LeRoy Franklin Seiler; grandchildren include: Laurie Lea Floyd, Julie Marie Moran, Deborah Wipperman, Pamela DeHan, and ten great grandchildren.
