Mr. Wayne
Everette Lewis, age 60, of Track Rock Gap, Blairsville, formerly of
Atlanta
passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 in the Union General Hospital
following
a brief illness. Mr. Lewis was born on
Oct. 31, 1948 in Summerville, SC, the son of Cynthia Peoples Lewis and
the late
Wead E. Lewis. He was a veteran of the
US Army of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed
shooting pool and playing with his dog
Surviving Mrs.
Lewis are one daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Thomas Miller of
Severn, MD,
mother, Cynthia Lewis of SC, two grandchildren, T.J. Miller and
Brittney Miller
both of Severn, MD, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial
service for Mr. Lewis will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, if you with, the family requests
that memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in
memory of
Mr. Lewis.

benjamin “ben” franklin davis, jr.
Mr.
Benjamin
“Ben” Franklin Davis, Jr. age 80, of Blairsville, GA, passed away
Thursday,
October 8, 2009.
Mr. Davis
was born on September 14, 1929 in Fulton County,
GA, to the late Benjamin and Sara Adams Davis.
He was a long time member of Collins Memorial United Methodist
Church in
Atlanta and a recent member of Coosa United Methodist Church in
Blairsville. Mr. Davis was an Army
Veteran during the Korean War and was preceded in death by a brother,
Thomas
Davis..
Survivors
include: wife, Virginia Davis of the home, son and
daughter-in-law, Stephen and Deborah Davis of Douglasville, GA, son,
Keith
Davis of Powder Springs, GA, daughter, Debbie Smith of Warrensburg, MO,
step-son and wife, Jay and Bonnie Carlton of Jasper, GA, step-daughter
and
husband, Jill and Doug Mason of Lithia, FL, sister and husband, Sara
and Frank
Coffey of Norcross, GA, sister, Eva Smith of Woodstock, GA, brother and
wife,
Edwin and Carol Davis of Norcross, GA, twenty grandchildren, eight
great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held Monday, October 12, 2009 at 11 AM from the Coosa
United
Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Midkiff officiating.
Pallbearers were, Adam Davis, Jay Carlton,
Doug Mason, Edwin Davis, Tyler Mason and Neal Smith.
Burial
was in Crest Lawn memorial Park in Atlanta, GA, with military honors
conducted
by Fort McPherson Honor Guard.
In lieu of
flowers memorial donations may be made to, Coosa United Methodist
Church
Benevolence Fund.
Cochran Funeral Home Blairsville, GA in
charge of arrangements.

Mrs.
Betty
Mae Willis, age 82, of haven Wood Rd., Blairsville passed away on
Wednesday,
Oct. 7, 2009 at her home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Willis
was born on Dec. 11, 1926 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of the late
Ivan
Hanson and the late Verni Shields Hanson.
Betty loved walking and enjoyed her cat and dog.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister and
grandmother. She was preceded in death
by a son, Donald Willis, Jr. in 1980.
Mrs. Willis was of the Eckankar faith.
Surviving Mrs.
Willis are her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Donald Willis of
Blairsville, two sons, Gary Willis of Payola, KS, Kirk Willis of
Blairsville,
one sister, Jeanette Harvey of Raymore, MO, one brother and
sister-in-law, Ivan
and Jo Hanson of Overland Park, KS, five grandchildren, many other
relatives
and friends also survive.
No services
are planned. In lieu of flowers if you
wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice
of
Hiawassee in memory of Mrs. Willis.
