mrs. wilmoth griffin schneider
Mrs.
Wilmoth Griffin Schneider, 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Tuesday,
October 8, 1996 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs.
Schneider was born in Berrien County, Georgia, on
September 5, 1920, a daughter of the late John Griffin and Stella
Vickers Griffin. She was a veteran of
World War II, and served
in the Navy Nurse Corps. Mrs. Schneider
had lived in Blairsville since 1987, coming here from Plant City, FL. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church
and was active in their Senior Adult Choir.
Surviving
are her husband, Rev. Floid Schneider, of the home; son, Glenn
Schneider, of
Valrico, FL; daughter, Carol Turnage, of Selma, NC; daughter, Doris
Durbin, of
Blairsville; and daughter, Joan Schneider-Cooper, of Wichita, KS;
brothers,
Osborn Griffin, of Dover, FL, and Leonard Griffin, of Auburn, CA;
sister, Mamie
Caruthers, of Brandon, FL; nine grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, October 11, 1996 at 11 a.m. from Antioch
Baptist
church with Rev. Bill Gowder officiating. Special
music was presented by Lita Gowder,
Tammy Blasingame, and Ted Loelee.
Deacons of Antioch Baptist Church served as pallbearers and Honorary escort to the family.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of
arrangements.
