MR. JARRELL “JIM” HULSEY

 

Mr. Jarrell (better known as Jim) Hulsey, age 87, of Foggy Bottom Farm Drive, Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, October 13th in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.  Mr. Hulsey was born on November 27, 1913 in Cherokee County, GA, the son of the late John Wesley Hulsey and the late Josie A. Foster Hulsey.  He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and retired as a Flight Test Engineer at Lockheed in Marietta.  He was a Civitan, and was a member of the Georgia Chapter Civil Air Patrol and the local VFW.  He was a member of the McConnell Memorial Church of Hiawassee.

Surviving Mr. Hulsey are his loving wife of fifty five year, Marguerite Catlett Hulsey; one daughter, Cathleen Thero, both of Blairsville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jarrell Jr. and Norma Hulsey of Dahlonega, John Wesley Hulsey of Marietta four grandchildren, Jarrell James Hulsey III of Ball Ground, Rhonda Garrett of Marietta, Gregory Thero of Blairsville, Sherryl Hulsey of Barton; two great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday October 16, 2001 at 11 am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Rudy Patton, Rev. Jon Johnson, and Rev. Marion Beaver officiating.  Special music was presented by Carolyn Dickerson, Duffy Johnson and Chalet Johnson.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Ronald Hulsey, Buck Park, Ernest Phillips and Jerrell Dickerson.  Interment followed in the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta with the Naval Air Station of Atlanta conducting the military services.

MR. JOE BOB EVANS

 

Mr. Joe Bob Evans, age 68, of Dillard Road, Blairsville, formerly of Liberty, TX, passed away on Thursday, in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.  Mr. Evans was born on October 1, 1933 in Asher, OK, the son of the late James Murphy Evans and the late Minnie Pearl Evans.  He was a member of the VFW Post 5624 and a member of the Elks Lodge.  He was a veteran of the US Army in the Korean War.

Surviving Mr. Evans are his loving wife, Marion Evans of Blairsville; one daughter, Misty Evans of Riverdale; two step daughters, Penny Hunt Roane and Peggy DeJoseph, both of Blairsville; three sons, Joe Bob Evans Jr., of Daisetta, TX, David Michael Evans of Devers, TX, David A. (Bubba) Evans of Blairsville; one brother, Bill Evans of Texas; one sister, Betty Yenor of Texas; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday October 14, 2001 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.  Members of the North GA Honor Guard conducted the military services.  Interment followed in the Moss Hill Cemetery in Moss Hill, Texas on Wednesday, October 17, 2001.
