MRS. alline stephens noble

 

Mrs. Alline Stephens Noble, age 82, of Eatonton, Georgia, formerly of Blairsville, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 9, 2000 in Eatonton following an extended illness.  Mrs. Noble was born on June 22, 1918 in Union County, the daughter of the late Lee Stephens and the late Addie Jackson Stephens.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eatonton.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cater Stephens, in 1980, Cecil Stephens in 1995 and Claude Stephens in 1951.  Mrs. Noble was a Union County Native.

Surviving Mrs. Noble are one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Patrick Farris, of Oklahoma City, OK, one sister, Elizabeth Wages, of Athens, GA; six brothers, Frank Stephens, of Blairsville, Gene Stephens, of Santa Rosa, FL., Bill Stephens, of Chamblee, GA, Riley Stephens, of Blairsville, Henry Stephens, of Dalton, GA and Jackie Stephens, of Fairburn, GA., five grandchildren, Woody, Sarah, and Scott Lawrence, Patrick and David Farris, many other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating.  Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Woody and Scott Lawrence, Patrick and David Farris, Danny Curtis, Greg and Anthony Stephens.  Interment followed in the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

MR. billy ray brady

 

Mr. Billy Ray Brady, age 46, of David Drive, Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2000 at his home following a sudden illness. Mr. Brady was born on July 20, 1954 the son of George Brady and Lois Rogers Brady.  He was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Brady are his wife, Jannice Norris, of Blairsville; father and mother, George and Lois Brady; four step children, Buddy Skinner, Robbin Chastain, Jake McKown and Brandy Hurst; four sisters, Lowaner Johnston, of Kairo, Linda Anderson, of Thomasville, GA; Georgia Nell Pierce, of Kairo, Maxine Smith, of Ochlocanee, and Diane Adams, of Coolidge, GA, four brothers, Ellis Brady, of Kairo, Larry Brady, of Waycross, Gerald Brady, of Kairo, and Dennis Brady of Ochlocanee, GA., many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 3:30 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brent Chatham officiating.  Special music was presented by Jeff Brady.

MRS. thelma lee little nichols

 

Mrs. Thelma Lee Little Nichols, age 88, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2000, in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.

Mrs. Nichols was born on Saturday, October 5, 1912, in Union County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Luke Little and Ollie Smith Little.  She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Union County.  Mrs. Nichols was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by three husbands: Poole Deaver in 1950; Jewel Twiggs in 1984; and Will Nichols in 1986.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Twiggs, of Blairsville, and Barbara Heiner, of Akron, Ohio; two grandchildren: Debra Twiggs, of Blairsville, and Patricia McConahy, of Akron; great grandson, Frank  Twiggs, of Blairsville also survives, along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 2 p.m. from Ivy Log Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Karnes officiating.  Special music was presented by the Ivy Log Quartet.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Frank, Twiggs, Curt McConahy, Chuck Heiner, Chester Rogers, Elbert Robertson, and Dee Morris.  Interment was in Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery.

MR. danny l. bridges

 

Mr. Danny L. Bridges, age 45, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2000 at his hone following an extended illness.

Mr. Bridges was born in Whitfield County, Georgia, on Thursday, September 9, 1955, a son of Roy Bridges and Ruby Collins Bridges.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines Corps.  Mr. Bridges was a lifelong resident of this area and was a local builder.  He was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church, and was an avid Golfer.  Danny had been preceded in death by his father, Roy, in 1978.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline King Bridges, of the home; his mother, Ruby Norton, and step-father, Troy Norton, of Blairsville; a brother, Ricky Bridges, of Blairsville also survives, along with many friends and other relatives.

 Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 2 p.m. from Zebulon Baptist Church, with Rev. Brent Chatham, and Rev. Harley Hunter officiating.  Special music was presented by Tammy and Randy Hughes and Jessica Miller.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers:  Bob Head, W.C. Nelson, David Chatham, Cecil Hughes, Sonny Dyer and Champ Lance.  The following gentlemen served as honorary escort to the family: Lee Knight, Lamar Paris, and Jeff Knight.  Interment was in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family suggests memorials be made in Memory of Danny, to Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
