mr. john lane

 

Mr. John Lane, age 84, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 10, 1999 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mr. Lane was born on Monday, September 27, 1915, in Bell County, Kentucky, a son of the late E.B. Lane and Anna Williams Lane.  He was a retired coal miner.  Mr. Lane had lived in Chicago, Illinois and Harlan, Kentucky, before moving to Blairsville in 1974.  He attended The House of Prayer Church, and was a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge 114, F&AM.

Surviving are his wife, Viva Gunter Lane, of Blairsville; daughter, Ola Henley, of Brookfield, IL; daughter and son in law, Dora Anna and David Chandler, of Summerville, SC; and daughter and son in law, Jacqueline Faye and Al Montreuil, of Hilton Head, SC; son, Willie Bruce Lane, of Chicago, IL; son and daughter in law, Phillip Arnold and Sally Lane of Sevieville, TN; and son, Sherman Delno Lane, of Lagrange Park, IL; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive, along with many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.  Special music was presented by The House of Prayer Church Choir.  Members of The Allegheny Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers, and presented Masonic rites at graveside.  Interment was in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

mr. berry hayden seabolt

 

Mr. Berry Hayden Seabolt, age 87, of Seabolt Lane, Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 1999 in Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  He was born on April 28, 1912 in Fannin County, the son of the late Monroe Seabolt and the late Nancy Edith Walker Seabolt.  He was a lifelong resident of Union County and was of the Baptist Faith.  Mr. Seabolt was proceeded in death by his wife, Lena Cearley Seabolt in 1959.  He was retired form the Tennessee Chemical Company.  He was also a member of the Young Cane Lodge #527 F & AM.

Surviving Mr. Seabolt are one son and daughter-in-law, Kennon and Dinah Seabolt of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Edward Breedlove pf Blairsville; daughter, Sheryl Davis of Blairsville; sister, Lola Patton of Blairsville; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Mountain View Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.  Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Jimmy Seabolt, Garner Butt, Denny Patton, Rex Patton, Phillip Patton, Ray Rogers, Don Rogers, Charles Rogers and Tommy Rogers.  Interment followed in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

mrs. gina carole hill collins

 

Mrs. Gina Carole Hill Collins, age 36, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 15, 1999 in Crawford-Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mrs. Collins was born in Union County, Georgia, on Monday, May 13, 1963.  She was employed at Union General Hospital in the pharmacy department.  Mrs. Collins was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

Surviving are her husband, Leon Collins, of Blairsville; two sons, Matthew and Cory Collins, also of Blairsville; step-son, Jason Collins, of Blairsville; her parents, Charles and Jackie Hill of Blairsville; brother, Elliott Hill of Blairsville; sister, Stacy Hill of Gainesville; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 17, 1999 at 2 p.m. from First Baptist Church of Blairsville with Rev. Bethel Buchanan and Rev Danny Parris officiating.  Special music was presented by Minister of Music Terry Hooper.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Frank Collins, Shane Murphy, Jason Collins, Steve Lance, Tom Swartz, and Steven Foster.  Interment was in Union memory Garden Cemetery in Blairsville.  If you wish, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Blairsville Building Fund, P.O. mrs. eleanor m. bessette

 

Mrs. Eleanor M. Bessette, age 83, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 1999 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Bessette was born on Wednesday, June 14, 1916, in Washington County, New York, a daughter of the late George Leslie Mylotte and Carrie Blanchard Mylotte.  She had been employed in electronics manufacturing.  Mrs. Bessette had lived in the Blairsville area for the past four years, moving here from Ocala, Florida.

Surviving are her son, Nelson Fagan of Blairsville; a brother, John Mylotte, of lady Lake, Florida; three grandchildren, Ralph Fagan of Calhoun, Ga., Wendy Nicholls of Canton, Ga, and Jill Crouch of Harrison, TN; seven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at 8 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Father Tim Gadzials officiating.  Interment was in Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall, New York, on Monday, October 18, 1999 at 11 a.m.
