Mr. Sandy
Math, 54, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 18, 1996
in
Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Math
was born in Wayne County, Michigan, on June 24,
1942, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He had lived in Blairsville for the past four years, coming here
from
San Francisco. He received a masters degree in physics from Wayne State
University in
Detroit. Mr. Math was employed at Union
County Bank on January 10, 1994 and most recently served as corporate
date
(sic) security and personal computer administrator.
Sandy was a member of the Union County Bank
Information Technology Team with responsibility to supplement security
procedures designed to control access to and protect the integrity of
company
computer information; to install and maintain personal computer
hardware in all
United Community Bank Facilities; implement selected software on
company
computers; and instruct staff in the use of new personal computer
hardware and
software. Sandy devoted his twenty five
year career applying computer technology to solve business problems. Prior to joining the Union County Bank Team,
he worked in the Medical field and hospitality industry in California
as well
as the retailing, manufacturing and commercial banking industries in
Michigan. Sandy had formed his own
company, called MATHination.
Surviving
are his wife, Susie Math, of Blairsville; his parents, Joseph and Grace
Math,
of Oak Park, Michigan; daughter, Adele Wafrock-Cook, of Atlanta; step
son,
Joshua Burns, of Clarence Center, NY; brothers, Paul Math, of Royal
Oak,
Michigan and Jerry Math, of Michigan; two grandsons, Brandon and Byron
Wafrock,
of Woodstock, GA.
Memorial Services
were held Sunday, October 20, 1996 at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran
Funeral
Home of Blairsville.

Mr. Craig
Daniel Lee, 19, Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 18,
1996.
Craig was
born in Union County, Georgia, on September 19,
1977. He was a lifelong resident of
Union County, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal
grand father, Gene Moore, in 1985.
Surviving
are his parents, William and Cathy Lee, of Blairsville; Maternal
grandmother,
Faye Moore, of Blairsville; paternal grand parents, Lawrence and
Maebelle Lee,
of Blairsville; Maternal great grandmother, Gertrude Nation, of
Blairsville;
and Paternal great grandmother, Willia Mae Woody, also of Blairsville;
brother,
Ryan Lee and sister, Tiffany Lee, both of Blairsville; many cousins,
uncles,
aunts and other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, October 21, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of
Cochran Funeral
Home with Rev. James Brock officiating. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers:
Matthew Adkins, Lamar Dyer, Trent Hunter, Homer Hunter, Bobby
Rich, and
Brian Rich. Interment was in Union
Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Robert
“Dale” McClure, age 69, of Columbus, died Thursday, October 10, 1996 at
Doctors
North Hospital following a long illness.
He was born on June 11, 1927 in Blairsville, GA.
Retired member of
International Association of Bridge, Structural, and Ornamental Iron
Workers
Local #172 after 51 years of structural steel work in the Ohio area. Also a member of Eastgate Lodge #603 F &
AM, Scioto Consistory, AASR-Valley of Columbus, Mt. Vernon Commandary
#1,
Aladdin Temple Shrine. He was also an
adult leader of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop #330 sponsored by the
Salem
Elementary School for over 20 years, where he served as a Scoutmaster. He was extremely active as a Campmaster at
Camp Lazarus, Contingent Leader for Philmont Treks and served on many
Boy Scout
training courses, including Wood Badge.
His honors with the Boy Scouts are, the Silver Beaver Award,
George
Meany Award and Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow.
He is preceded in death by his wife Flora Mae
Fout McClure and parents Virgil C. and Iowa Elliott McClure. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet L.
and Richard A. Berry of Jackson, OH; son, Terry Alan McClure of
Columbus;
sisters, Rowena Brown and Wanda Clement, both of Blairsville, GA;
brother, Don
McClure of East Point, GA; grandsons, Edgar A. Berry of Huron, Oh. (sic) and James W. Berry of Jackson, OH. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday, October 14, 1996 at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington. The Rev. Robert E. Dauber
officiating.
In

Mr.
Robert
A. Yandle, 66, Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 15,
1996 in
Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr.
Yandle was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina,
on September 7, 1930, a son of the late Charles Yandle and Ruby Moore
Yandle. He had been living in this area
since 1992, coming here from Orlando, Florida.
Surviving
are his wife, Mary Yandle, of the home; step son, Robert Trevarthen, of
Blairsville; step daughter, Lana Lang, of Orlando; step daughter, Beck
Banks,
of Blairsville; step son, Odell Barrow, of Orlando; step son, Ralph
Barrow, of
Young Harris; brother, Jack Yandle, of Orlando; sister, Mary Broome, of
Charlotte, NC; sister, Cora Fox, of Burnsville, NC; and sister,
Josephine
Coleman, of Charlotte; twelve grandchildren, and ten great
grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial
services were held Saturday, October 19, 1996 at 4 p.m. from Youngstown
Baptist
Church with Rev. Leon Henderson officiating.

Donald t. “don Juan from michigan” crandall
Mr.
Donald T. “Don Juan from Michigan” Crandall, 74, of Blairsville,
Georgia,
passed away Monday, October 14, 1996.
Mr.
Crandall was born in East Detroit, MI. He
was retired Civil Service Jet Mechanic
from Selfridge AFB, Michigan. He was a
World War II Veteran from the Marine Corps.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr.
Crandall moved to the Blairsville area 3 years ago from
Alpena, MI.
Survivors
include sons: Steve Crandall, Jr., Florida City,
FL; Eddie Crandall, Celebration, FL; Patrick Mark Limitt, Gotha, FL;
John
Riley, Port Huron, MI and Kevin Couture, New Port Richey, FL;
daughters: Donna
Fowler, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Pamela Wilbourn, Roseville, MI;
brothers:
Norman Krusinski, Chesterfield, MI and Melvin Karll, Jr., Eastpointe,
MI. and
13 grandchildren.
Committal
Services were held Tuesday, October 22, 1996, at 2 p.m. at Florida
National
Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, with Military Honors rendered by the
Marine Corps
League of Spring Hill, Florida. Interment following service at Florida National
Cemetery, Bushnell,
FL.
