Mrs.
Bonnie Bell Jackson Rich, age 99, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away
Thursday,
October 2, 1998 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mrs. Rich
was born Tuesday, May 30k 1899, in Union County, Georgia, a daughter
of the late William Jackson and Nancy Fields Jackson.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident
of this area. Mrs. Rich was a member of
Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was the
widow of the late Elbert R. Rich, who passed away in 1980.
Surviving
are her daughter and son-in-law, Geneva and Paul Nicholson, daughter,
Juanita
Fair; daughter and son-in-law, Jimmye and Steve Kimsey, all of
Blairsville;
brother, Clifford Jackson, of Blairsville, and brother, Nuteon Jackson,
of
Andrews, NC; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 20 great great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, October 25, 1998 at 2
p.m. from Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Coleman, Rev. Vernon
Davenport, and Rev. Ray Potts officiating.
Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: David Cox, Tony DiNatale, Clyde Walton, Quinton Morris,
Tim roper,
and Albert Davenport. Interment was in
Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr.
Ralph William Gibson, Sr., age 81, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away
Saturday, October 24, 1998 in Blairsville.
Mr. Gibson
was born in Clay County, North Carolina, on Sunday, October 29, 1916, a
son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Jarrett Gibson. He
was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a farmer.
Mr. Gibson and his wife Berniece celebrated
sixty-two years of marriage. He had been
preceded in death by his parents, Jarrett and Claude Gibson, and
brothers, Ray,
Pearl and Boyd Gibson.
Surviving
are his wife, Berniece Alexander Gibson, of Blairsville; son and
daughter-in-law, Clarence and Wanda Gibson, of Blairsville; daughter
and
son-in-law, Ruth and William Thompson, of Gainesville; daughter and
son-in-law,
Patricia and J.D. Elliott, of Gainesville, son, Ralph Gibson, Jr., of
Blairsville; sister, Thelma McClure, of Hayesville, NC; brothers: Floyd
Gibson,
and Vaughn Gibson, both of Hayesville, Manuel Gibson, of Tusquittee,
NC;
Barnett Gibson and Leonard Gibson, both of Hiawassee, and
sisters-in-law,
Euzella Gibson, of Gainesville, Reba Gibson, of Florida, twenty-one
grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren also survive, along
with a
host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral
services were held Monday, October 26, 1998 at 2
p.m. from Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Potts
officiating. Special music was presented
by Ken and Elaine
Young. Grandsons served as pallbearers,
with graveside services in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with
Re.
Stanley Gibson officiating.
