lester calvin dyer

 

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mr. Lester Calvin Dyer, age 89, of Blairsville who died Saturday, October 25, 2003 in the Union County Nursing Home.

Mr. Dyer was born August 17, 1914 in Union County, son of the late Andrew and Margaret Dyer.  He was a member and deacon of Pine Top Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ethelene Dyer of Blairsville; daughter, Audrey Ledford of Blairsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Sheila Dyer of Young Harris, Georgia and Robert Melvin and Carole Dyer of Kennesaw, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Complete arrangements will be announced later by Cochran Funeral Home.

doris alice dronsfield forrester

 

Mrs. Doris Alice Dronsfield Forrester, age 75, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2003 in Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, Georgia.

Mrs. Forrester was born on Monday, January 2, 1928, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Malcom Dronsfield and Alice Dalton Dronsfield.  She was a homemaker and had lived in Blairsville since 1979, moving here from Jonesboro, Georgia.  Mrs. Forrester was a member of Union General Hospital Auxiliary and had been preceded in death by her husband, Jepty L. Forrester, in 2001.

Surviving are a son, Steve J. Forrester; son and daughter-in-law, Leland D. and Denise Forrester, all of Destin, Florida; sister-in-law, Katie Williams of Woodruff, South Carolina; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held Saturday, September 25, 2003 at Holly Hill Veteranís Cemetery in Blairsville, with Rev. Mike Hardy officiating.

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was entrusted by the family for the arrangements.

martha louise jordan morgan

 

Mrs. Martha Louise Jordan Morgan, age 80, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2003 in Union County Nursing Home.

Mrs. Morgan was born in Union County, Georgia on Thursday, September 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph Jordan and Willard Mauney Jordan.  She was a homemaker and member of Antioch Baptist Church.  Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Morgan, in 1993 and two brothers, Reid Jordan and Richard Jordan.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, George D. and Judy Morgan, of Blairsville; two sisters, Elizabeth Atkins, of Blairsville and Mildred Deaver, of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Daniel C. & Andrea Morgan of Austin, Texas, Karen Morgan and Vickie L. and Danny Byers, all of Blairsville; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 27, 2003 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Rabern and Danny Morgan officiating.  The following gentlemen served as Pallbearers: Danny Morgan, Waymond Morgan, Joey Atkins, Danny Byers, David Atkins, Terry Atkins and Daniel Atkins.  Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was entrusted by the family for the arrangements.

baby emry celeste rosser

 

Baby Emry Celeste Rosser passed away October 15, 2003 in an Atlanta hospital.

Surviving are her parents Tim and Amy Rosser of Blairsville, GA; maternal grandparents, Bob and June Gibby of Young Harris, GA; five aunts, Andrea Gibby of Seattle, WA., Ailena Gibby of Athens, GA., Brenda Berrong of Marble, NC., Shelley Lampe of Louisville, KY, and Deborah Hudgins of Uxbridge, MA; one uncle, Marty Gibby of Sandy Springs, GA.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 2:00 pm from the Baptist Cemetery in Hayesville, NC.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee was in charge of arrangements.
