mr. earl warren

 

Mr., Earl Warren, age 74, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 28, 2005 at Atlanta Medical Center.

Mr. Warren was born Saturday, July 4, 1931 in Fannin County, Georgia, to the late Arvil Warren and Ethel (Grizzle) Warren.  He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was preceded in death by brother, Stancil Warren, a baby brother and baby sister.

Survivors include: wife, Ruby Warren of Blairsville, Georgia; daughter & son-in-law, Janice and Mike marsh of Blairsville, Georgia; son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Sissy Warren of Blairsville, Georgia; grandson, Jeremy Warren of Blairsville, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Lee Ruth Warren of Blairsville, Georgia; brother, Eugene Warren of Blairsville, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Warren of Blairsville, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Rufus and Corliss Warren Marietta, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Burless Pickelsimer of Chatsworth, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Marshall Pangle of Dalton, Georgia; many nieces and nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 21, 205 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home with the rev. Ray Potts and Rev. Kenny Beavers officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Anthony Warren, Phillip Warren, Terry Warren, Todd Warren, Marcus Warren, and Kenneth Pendergrass.  Honorary pallbearers include: Verlin Fortenberry, Vernon Barnes, Floyd Payne, Richard Stultz, Leslie Groves, Bobby Warren, James Harkins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2112 Willie Circle, Blairsville, GA 30512.

mr. robert dear

 

Mr. Robert Dear, age 72, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at his home following a brief illness.  Mr. Dear was born on March 27, 1933 in Red Bank, NJ, the son of the late Herbert Dear and the late Helen Schoellner Dear (Cowden).

Surviving Mr. Dear are his loving wife, Hilary Dear of Blairsville; daughter, Lisa Dear of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Linda Dear of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Kristen Dear of Strafford, VT; daughter, Nancy Sutton of Sylacauga, AL; granddaughter, Katie Jo Dear of White Rive Junction, VT; and many other close and dear friends also survive.

A man of quiet dignity and grace, Bob always had a kind word, gentle counsel, helping hand and generous heart to all.  He was well loved and respected and he will be missed greatly.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Georgia Mountain Hospice, PO Box 580, jasper, GA 30413 in Mr. Dear’s memory.

mr. emmett ray moore

 

Mr. Emmett Ray Moore, age 71, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005 at his residence.  Mr. Moore was born Friday, November 10, 1933 in Marion Count, West Virginia to the late Henry Moore and Thelma Exline Moore.  He was preceded in death by brother, Harley Moore, sister, Jewell Sinkovick and granddaughter, LaDonna Francis.  Survivors include: wife, Sarah Moor of Blairsville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Linda and Clyde Bruce of Blairsville, GA, son, Jerry Weldon of Cookeville, TN, sister, Rose Shoemaker of Hipzibath, WV, sister, Margie McCoy of Lakeland, FL, granddaughter and husband, Deanna and Wade Teems, granddaughter and husband, Tenecia and Bobby Lazo, granddaughter, Miranda Weldon and grandson, Timothy Francis.  7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating.  Interment followed in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

mr. robert “bob” odom

 

Mr. Robert “Bob” Odom, age 51, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Erlanger Medical Center.

Mr. Odom was born Thursday, September 23, 1954 in Fannin County, Georgia to J.C. Odom of Morganton and the late Fleeta Chastain Odom.  He was a member of New Union Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his father; daughter, Amanda Odom of Murphy, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Kathy Odom of Blairsville, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Debbie Odom of Blairsville, Georgia; step-mother Mildred Odom of Morganton; several nieces and nephews and many friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Wilcoxon and Rev. Harrison Bradley officiating.  Music was provided by the Faith Singers, Casey Jones and Jonathan Adams.  Interment was in New Union Baptist church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Lamar Lance, Phil Rogers, Shannon Kelley, Kirk Odom, Joe Owenby, Israel Douthit.  Honorary pallbearers were: James Fischer, Justin Owenby, Kyle Odom, Scott Grant, Jack Totherow, Chris Fox, James West, and Rasha Howard.
