Mrs.
Marcia K. Richard age 75 of High Lane, Blairsville passed away on
Monday Oct.
27, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Richard was born on Nov. 30, 1932 in
Salem, MA, the daughter of the late Horace Killam and the late
Mildred Jedrey Killam. She was a loving
wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was a friend to all. She loved and enjoyed people and was always
in an up beat mood. She never complained
while battling all of her afflictions.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Richard was a member of the Shady Grove
Methodist Church.
Surviving
Mrs. Richard are her loving husband of fifty four years, Robert Richard
of
Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Douglas Farrell
of Port
St. Lucie, FL, one son Gregg K. Richard of Ft. Pierce, FL, her extended
children, Deborah Mock of FL, and Douglas Peralta of FL, one brother
and
sister-in-law, John and Judy Killam of Tuscon (sic), AZ, four
grandchildren,
Tara, Stephanie, Michael and Taylor, four great grandchildren, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 at 7 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bone officiating.
Graveside services were held on Friday at 11
a.m. from the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family met with friends at the funeral
home on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. Gearl
Lee Burnett, age 65 of Gracewood, GA, formerly of Blairsville passed
away on
Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 following an extended illness.
Mr. Burnett was born on may
23, 1943 in Union County, the son of the late Edley Burnett and the
late Alvia
Mahaffey Burnett. He was preceded in
death by a brother, Eugene Burnett and a sister, Brenda Sosebee.
Surviving
Mr. Burnett are nine brothers and sisters, Thomas and Peggy Burnett of
Blairsville, Alwaine and Lawrence Totherow of Blairsville, Franklin and
Carneal
Burnett of Buford, GA, Wanda Brophy of Jefferson, Norma Jean and Edward
George
of Stone Mountain, GA, John Richard and Barbara Burnett of Dublin
Junior and
Brenda Burnett of Blairsville, Bonnie and Wayne Dills of Lawrenceville,
David
and Mary Burnett of Blairsville, sister-in-law, Wanda Burnett of
Blairsville,
brother-in-law, Randy Sosebee of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews,
many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Waymon Lovell and Rev. Chad Underwood officiating. Special music was presented by Becky
Rogers. The following gentlemen served
as pallbearers, George, Bill, Robert, Marc, Andrew and Lee Burnett,
Eddie
George and Wayne Dills, Jr. Interment
followed in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family met with friends at the funeral
home on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m.

Mr. Tommy
Lee Haynes, age 50 of Young Drive, Blairsville, formerly of Hall
County, passed
away on Monday, October 27, 2008 in Brunswick, GA, following an
apparent heart
attack. Mr. Haynes was born on August 1,
1958 in Lumpkin County, GA, the son of Betty jean Harkins Haynes and
the late
William Arnold Haynes. Tommy was a
loving father, son and brother and was a friend to many.
At the time of his death he was employed by
Appalachian Enterprises of Blairsville.
Mr. Haynes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scottdale.
Surviving
Mr. Haynes are his mother, Betty Jean Young of Blairsville, his step
mother,
Helen Haynes of Gainesville, one son, David Haynes of Blairsville, one
step
son, Chad Beck of Lula, GA, half sister, Susan Harkins of Suches, two
grandchildren, Drelynn Hester and Cayden Pritchett, many other
relatives and
friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Mountain
View
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Nickerson officiating. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers,
David Haynes, Justin Fugel, Chad Beck, Harold Cooper, Greg Zeger, Moe
Oliveria
and Dewayne Oliveria. Serving as
honorary pallbearer was Ervin Jones. Interment
followed in the Jones family Cemetery.

Mr.
Junior
Warren, age 75, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, GA, passed
away
Thursday, October 30, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Warren was born Wednesday, may 3, 1933, in Union County,
Georgia to
the late Arvil Warren and the late Ethel Grizzle Warren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Warren had been
preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Warren and Stancil Warren, and
an
infant brother and sister. He was of the
Baptist faith.
Survivors
include his loving wife of 57 years, Lee Ruth “Katie” Warren of
Blairsville;
son & daughter-in-law, Anthony & Darla warren of Blairsville;
brother,
Gene Warren; Paul Warren; brother, Rufus warren, all of Blairsville;
sister,
Carol Sue Pickelsimer of Chatsworth, Georgia; sister, Linda Faye Pangle
of
Dalton, Georgia; granddaughter, Heather Warren; special grandchildren:
Brandon
& Brian Gamel; special cousins, the Clifford King Family; special
cousin,
Dorothy Corn; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, November 1, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the
Chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with the Rev. Jerry Young, Rev.
Evan
Hughes, Rev. Bryan Mason, and Rev. Kenny Beaver officiating. Special music for the service was presented
by Rev. Evan Hughes and Merle Fortenberry.
Interment followed in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were the following
gentlemen: Michael Warren, Terry Warren,
Shawn Bush, Todd Warren, Mark Warren, Phillip Warren, Joel Gooch. Honorary pallbearers included: Michael
Warren, Daniel Harkins, J.M. Grizzle, Pat Johnson, and Dr. Robert
Stahlkuppe.
The family
received friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m.; Friday,
October 31.

Mr.
Charles
Fred Thomas, age 62 of Leisure Time Rd., Blairsville passed away on
Sunday,
October 19, 2008 at his home. Mr. Thomas
was born on July 21, 1946 in Fannin County, the son of William Thomas
and the
late Clarissa beavers Thomas. Mr. Thomas
had been employed in the timer business for the past several years. He was preceded in death by three brothers,
Jimmy, Troy and Roy Thomas. Mr. Thomas
was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mr. Thomas are one son, Michael Thomas of Blairsville, one daughter and
son-in-law, Sheila and Eddie Thornton of Blairsville, one brother,
Lonnie
Thomas of Ellijay, four sisters, Mazie Dale of Ellijay, “Polly” Marlene
Jones
of Morganton, “Sue” Corine Douchitt of Dalton, “Judy” Diane Thomas of
Morganton, four grandchildren, Courtney, Chantelle, A.J. and Brittany,
many
other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial
service will be held at a later date. In
lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be

help with funeral expenses in memory of Mr. Thomas.

Mr.
Wallace
K. Brown, age 81, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Thomaston, GA, passed
away
Friday, October 31, 2008 in Blairsville.
Mr. Brown
was a native of Thomaston and had made his home there for most of his
life. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Army. Until his retirement, he was the
owner/operator of the Brown Insurance Agency in Thomaston.
Mr. Brown was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Blairsville and a former member of the Valley grove Baptist
church in
Thomaston.
Mr. Brown
is survived by his wife, Ruby Brown, daughter and son-in-law, Mrs.
Deborah and
Rev. Bob Crowe of Blairsville, his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and
Lynn
Brown of Birmingham, AL, two brothers, Wilburn Brown of Thomaston and
Dennis
brown of Atlanta and five grandchildren, Robert W. Crowe, Kenneth
Crowe, Scott
Brown, Lydia Brown and Erin brown.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel
of the
Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston with Rev. Bob Crowe
officiating. Interment followed in the
South View
Cemetery. The family received friends at
