MRS. fannie mae patterson

 

Mrs. Fannie Mae Patterson, age 89, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 30, 2000 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Patterson was born in Union County, Georgia, on Sunday, April 16, 1911, a daughter of the late John Wayne Teague and Mary Etna Watkins Teague.  She was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of this area.  Mrs. Patterson was a member of Confidence Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clyde N. Patterson, in 1977.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Wendell and Theresa Patterson, of Blairsville; a grandson, Andrew Newell Patterson, also of Blairsville.  Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at 2 pm from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with rev. Jerry Helton and Rev. Charles Black officiating.  Special music was presented by Craig Collins.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers:  Don Byers, David Petit, Bobby Collins, Matthew Ensley, Sam Ensley, and Larry Patterson.  Interment was in Confidence Methodist Church Cemetery.

MRS. RUTH COOK

 

Mrs. Ruth Cook, age 79, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2000 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Cook was born in Union County, Georgia, on Wednesday, May 11, 1921, a daughter of the late Ed Sexton and Fannie Gillespie Sexton.  She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of this area.  Mrs. Cook was a member of Trackrock Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, E.L. Cook, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, James Kenneth and Eloise Cook and Jerry Louis and Patricia Cook, all of Blairsville; Troy Allen And Shelly Cook, of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; Loy Calvin and Brenda Cook, of Annapolis, Maryland; and son, Tommy Ray Cook, of Blairsville; daughter Geneva Bailey of Blairsville; sisters, Bonnie Starnes, and Clara Mathis, both of Blairsville; brothers Everett Sexton, Bobby Sexton, Edward Sexton, all of Blairsville, and Neal Sexton of Austell, Georgia; grandchildren, Robin and Misty Cook of Blairsville, Daniel Cook of Annapolis, MD, Oran Cook of Blairsville, Rachel Cook of Hilliard, Ohio, Jeffrey Cook of Blairsville, Kendra Cook of Blairsville, Matthew Cook of Annapolis and Madelin Cook of Hillard, Ohio, many other nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 3, 2000 at 3 pm from Trackrock Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Plott and Rev. Harley Hunter officiating.  Special music was presented by Rick Thomas, Trackrock Church Choir, Randy and Tammy Hughes and Jessica Miller, with Nancy Dyer serving as pianist.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers:  Rick Thomas, Richard Morgan, Herman Garrett, Kyle Moss, Gerald Cook, and Anthony Coker.  Grandsons served as honorary escort to the family.  Interment was in Trackrock Baptist Church Cemetery.
