mrs. kate proctor chambless

 

Mrs. Kate Proctor Chambless, age 96, of Blairsville, formerly of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Chambless was born on December 15, 1907 in Rentz, GA, the daughter of the late John Owne Proctor and the late Annie Burch Proctor.  She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Fred P. Chambless in 2002 and by her husband, J. Ralph Chambless in 1988.  Mrs. Chambless was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dublin.

Surviving Mrs. Chambless are one son and daughter-in-law, Proctor and Betty Chambless of East Dublin, GA, one daughter and son-in-law, Nell and Dr. Robert Boone of Blairsville, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin with the Rev. Proctor Chambless, Jr. officiating.  Interment followed in the Dublin Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to your favorite charity in Mrs. Chamblessís memory.

mr. gene dale chance

 

Mr. Gene Dale Chance, age 59, of Blair Lane, Murphy, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2004 in the Missions Hospital in Asheville, NC following an extended illness.  Mr. Chance was born on November 2, 1945 in Cherokee County, NC, the son of the late Debarris Chance and the late Evelyn Ash Chance.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy of the Vietnam War.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Lynn Mowry in 1994 and granddaughter, Jessica Mowry in 1995.  Mr. Chance was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving Mr. Chance are his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Geraldean Davenport Chance of Murphy, one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Krystal Chance of Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Mark Beaty of Marysville, WA, son-in-law Doug Mowry of Murphy, one brother, Jerry Chance of Murphy, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Jackson of Murphy, Mary Ruth and Marvin Curtis of Murphy, four grandchildren, Jeremy Samples, Christopher Mowry, Samantha Beaty and Zachary Shook, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, memorials may be made to the family in Mr. Chanceís memory.

f. dan watson, sr.

 

Mr. F. Dan Watson Sr., age 71, passed away Monday, November 1st in Saint Josephís Hospital in Atlanta.  Mr. Watson, born Sept. 29th, 1933, was a native of Clayton County, GA, but has lived Blairsville since 1997.  Mr. Watson worked for SunTrust Mortgage and retired as a Senior Vice President after 29 years of service in 1993.  Community service includes serving on the Clayton County Planning and Zoning Board for many years before moving to Blairsville where Mr. Watson recently served on the Union County Planning Board.

Mr. Watson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth.  Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, he is also survived by two sons, two daughters-in-law and two grandsons: Dan and Janet Watson of Mableton, GA., and their two sons Nathan and Noah; and Tony and Kathy Watson of Stockbridge, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 4th in the Chapel of the Finch Cochran Funeral Home located at 1478 Blueridge Dr., McCaysville, GA 30555.  706-492-3321.  Rev. Tom Jordan will be officiating.
