james earl “moses” gilreath, sr.
Mr. James
Earl “Moses” Gilreath, Sr., age 59, of Suches, GA, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on November 7, 2008,
following a
brief illness. He was born April 25,
1949 in Suches, GA. He had a wonderful
love for the mountains where he had lived all of his life.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a loving
son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He was
preceded in death by his father, Earl Gilreath, Suches, GA, daughters
and
sons-in-law, Theresa and Donny Burns, Suches, GA, Jeania and Andy
Dillon,
Dahlonega, GA, Linda Dockery and Lee Jenkins, Dahlonega, GA; sons and
daughter-in-law, James Gilreath, Jr., Suches, GA, Kevin Gilreath and
Tiffany
Kelly, Dahlonega, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Tammy
Gilreath,
Suches, GA, sisters and brother-in-law, Jane Moose, Suches, GA, Lois
and Dean
Collins, Blairsville, GA, grandchildren, Gabrielle Sisk, David Dillon,
Brittany
Chambers, Ashley Chambers, Kay Lee Jenkins, lacy Gilreath, and Melanie
Gilreath. Several nieces and nephews and
a large number of other family and friends also survive.
Funeral
services for Mr. Gilreath were held at 1 PM Monday, November 10 2008 at
the
Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with the Rev. Gwendell
Gravitt officiating. Interment followed in
the Zion Baptist Church
Cemetery in Suches.
Gentlemen
serving as pall bearers were Adam Gilreath, Dwayne Moose, Aaron
Seabolt,
Stephen Moose, Kaleb Seabolt, Junior Seabolt, Kevin Seabolt, James
Gilreath,
Jr., Scott Harris, Brian Seabolt, Ben Parks, and Tim Chambers.
The family
received friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-9 PM and all
day on
Sunday.

Mr. Don
Victor MaHaffey, age 64 of MaHaffey Place, Blairsville passed away on
Sunday
Nov. 16, 2008 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended
illness. Mr. MaHaffey was born on Feb. 23,
1944 in
Union County, the son of the late Plomar MaHaffey and the late Lannie
Self
MaHaffey. He was a former member of the
Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM. EH was preceded in death by a sister, June
Trulove and by two brothers, Cline and Bill MaHaffey.
Mr. MaHaffey was a member of the Blairsville
First Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mr. MaHaffey are two daughters, Susan Walker of Cooper City, FL, JoAnn
MaHaffey
of Sherman oaks, CA, two grandchildren, Ashley and Joshua Walker of
Cooper
City, FL, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 at 4 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating.
Special music will be presented by Terry
Hooper. Interment will follow in the
Union memory Gardens cemetery. The
family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening
from 6-9
p.m.

Mr.
Ronald
Eugene Kasserman, age 67 of Back To Nature
Trail,
Suches, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at his home following a
brief
illness. Mr. Kasserman was born on Dec.
21, 1940 in Lakeworth, FL, the son of the late Eugene Kasserman and the
late
Irene Peake Kasserman. Ronald had lived
in Suches for the past twenty years. He
loved motorcycles and Nascar racing. Mr. Kasserman was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving
Mr. Kasserman are one son, Ronald Kasserman of Suches, one daughter,
Delight
Michelle Kasserman of Live Oaks, FL, a close friend, Sandy Atkins of
Ellijay,
GA, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial
service was held on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at 12 p.m. from Mr.
Kasserman’s home
on Back To Nature Trail in Suches. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests that memorials may be made to Back To
Nature
Trail in memory of Mr. Kasserman.

Maudine
R. Baker, age 70, of Blairsville, GA, passed away October 23, 2008 at
Heartland
Hospice of Austell, GA, after a short illness.
She was born June 20, 1938 in Ellijay, GA to David and Maudie
Whitaker
and was married to former Davis County resident Robert W. Baker on
October 29,
1960 at Dayton, OH, where Robert was stationed at Wright Patterson Air
Force
Base. They were married 48 years. Maudine loved her family, music, gardening
and flowers.
She is
survived by her husband; two sons, Jeff (Carolyn) Baker of Jamestown,
OH, Mark
(Julinda) Baker of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren, Derrick Baker of
Columbus,
OH and Carrie Baker of mason, OH; two brothers, Franklin Whitaker of
Chatsworth, GA and John Whitaker of Dayton, OH; three sisters, Addie
Lee Kelly
of Beavercreek, OH; Shirley Stroop of Dayton, OH and Wanda Hargrove of
Springbourgh, OH. She was preceded in
death by her parents.
Funeral
services were Saturday, October 25, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church,
Marietta, GA, by Senior Pastor Dr. Samuel W. Henderson.
Burial was at Mt. View Cemetery, Marietta,
GA.
Memorial

Love Street, Austell, GA 30168.
